We are way to young and inexperienced to beat the number 1 team in the nation. Let Dooley and this staff recruit and build depth, I can bet that Dooley will get this turned around just not this year so to all the people wanting him gone im willing to bet by the end of next season you will be back on board as a true vol fan, so for now we just have to stand and support this team because like dooley said "the tough times will pass but the tough people will stay". So go vols and be patient I know its hard but thats where were at!:peace2:

Yup. The idea that coaching is the problem is laughable. The truth is we just don't have the talent and depth. Really that simple. The staff has been and is recruiting very well and UT will be back to where we expect it to be soon. Hang in there, folks. We have some very talented freshman and sophomores that will win a lot of big games in their careers. Go Vols!

Time to pack? I just don't see this staff being the one that leads the Vols back to the top. That's just my opinion. Some of you choose to believe they're going to do it. Time will tell and we'll see who's right. I don't want to be right, believe that.

their resumes? no that can't be they suck, the growth of our team, no becuase there has been none, Dooley's coaching ability, really it comes down to results in college ball and his suck.

I don't think Dooley is the problem but I do think atleast at seasons end We need a db coach who can coach proper technique. I honestly don't remember having a worse group of db's and most of them were recruited by Joseph and Wilcox. If that is what they put on the field I will pass to the next coach pls

wow there is Fiji, he doesn't show up on the recruiting forum anymore. but he shows up after losing to the #1 team. I would like to say he is more spineless than I thought, but its exactly what I expect from him.

If we are having the same problems at this time next year, then my opinion may change. I stand behind this team and coaching staff. We still need DEPTH! We are exhausted by the time the second half starts.

Next year we will be loaded with Jrs and Sophs/RS Freshmen and I would say that should be enough for us to win at least 8 games next yr and 9 the next yr. The more you win the more the recruits notice.

You can not build a program by changing coaches every other year, and the reason we are in this shape is because we have had 3 different head coaches in what, 4 yrs? Let this man do his job, and if u don't see some improvement in the kids we have gotten to come in the last 2 years, you know nothing about football or sports for that matter...Let Dooley do his job, and if he sees fit to make changes in his staff, he will do that i am sure...He has a 6 year contract, so let him have his time...If we are not a good team in his 5th yr, that is all on him, because all the kids on the team will be those he brought in, but blaming him before that, is just silly...

I will say, play a quarterback who will be on the team next yr to get experience, because the teams will can beat with Simms, we can beat with anyone....LOL

I agree with Gary Danielson...2 more classes before we are back in the thick of things. The problem is not 1st string talent (in most cases), the problem is lack of depth. Our coaches are doing a great job with what they have. People calling for coaching changes obviously have absolutely no clue about football, sports, or life in general.

I believed that it was time to fire Fulmer. I wish he would have just resigned, realizing that he had lost control of our program and needed new blood. But, after we fired a legend like Fulmer, we have had nothing but bad luck.

Kiffin really hurt us with all the recruiting violations. It made it hard for us to recruit after that.

We lose the Alabama game two years ago because we didn't have anyone to block on the field goal.

I think Dooley is a good coach, but we are cursed. We lose the LSU game last year due to the crazy ending with too many men on the field.

We lose to NC in the bowl game with another wild and unpredictable ending.

We lose Justin Hunter in the first series of the first SEC game of the year.

We lose Tyler Bray in the Georgia game.

We are already outmanned and have to go with Matt Sims. Sims is a good guy, but he is not very good. He is nowhere close to Bray. He did very little to help us today.

How long does it take to get over the curse of firing Fulmer?

Consider this: in only 19 games with Derek Dooley as head coach, Tennessee has suffered the 3 worst home losses in the modern (post 1950) era of UT football (Oregon and Bama last year, LSU today). That is a measure of how bad this team is, and how inept our coaching staff is.

Maybe the worst first post of all time.

With the majority of the team being juniors and seniors next year, there are no more excuses. Im on the fence right now when it comes to this coaching staff. If i hear we're young and we've got depth issues next year my head will explode. No more excuses, produce the W's.

I've said it on here before today on other boards calling for him and wilcox to get the ax. They are safe this season and need their time, but with they way things are set up if they don't get some big improvements next season they won't be around in 2013.
New AD and with the SEC and College football in gerneral undergowing the changes they are you want to be ahead of the curve a little if the system changes.
Fulmer won the first BCS and he established himself and the program as winners for the next 5 years in they eyes of recruits.
