Give Nance a chance

Nance has good size for a QB. Just don't think he has the arm strength.
Really don't need arm strength for the dinks and dunks we're missing on right now.
and no one is saying , Start him. Just some looks for now.

At least give him a couple of looks from an option spread or wildcat.
I don't see anything that we're doing now lighting up the scoreboard.
Ran g-gun last year. Run something similar with a guy that can run and pass.

N-gun. I'm down.

yeah, that's worked splendidly. We all know it was a package deal to get Nance. Cheney wanted Nash bad and was willing to take Rogers to get him.
The stupidity of this statement made me lol in class and I got in trouble. Thanks man.

I met Nash's parents over the weekend. They seemed like nice people.

They told me that both Nash and Da'Rick thought that if UT had a freshman team, it would be #1 in the nation. I hope they are right, although I fear that they failed to consider other teams that would also have freshmen in their ranking system.

How would you know? Have you seen him throw...been at practice? The kid is smart and big and physical....I would think the coaches have a good understanding of his throwing ability....maybe not as good as Bray, but good enough and he is smart and mature for his age.

All of that is fine and dandy. (And I'm happy for him.) But why is he behind the other two? Because in their (coaches) expert opinions, he gives us the 3rd best chance to win. 3rd. Not saying they are right, but they know more than you and I.

I'm encouraged by Nash. I see him on the sideline with the clipboard watching everything and learning the trade. Then when the offense comes off the field, he goes over to Simms or Bray to talk about what is going on. That is what a back up does! I predict he'll get redshirted this year and will be in the mix for one of the top spots next year.

Does he have the size for FB or TE? Can he run?
ESPN Evaluation

Nance is an efficient, athletic dual-threat prospect that is a nice fit for the spread offense, but he also has some upside as a pure passer that would be a nice fit for a west coast style scheme. He has good size and an athletic build. Plays in the spread..

I would be willing to bet the reason he is behind Simms and Bray is because Simms and Bray enrolled in January. Nance didn't get his to atleast summer, maybe 2nd terhm summer. I wish we would give him a shot. He can't do anymore damage to our record than has already been done.

I've watched Nance in warm ups and he can throw the ball a mile, so not sure arm strength is a problem with him because he can air it out then. Of course, that's just during warm ups, so take that as you will.....

Looking at him during games and how he is involved in the game, I think he may know the system as well as anyone on campus. Yet he's still seems to be learning more. From what I've seen and heard, he may play into the mix next year and give the other guys a run for their money on the job. In any case, he will be a good backup.

Yes, this exactly the reason. Although I suspect that he's so good they want to keep him here longer. Also they don't want to throw him to the wolves and risk injuring a future star or waste his eligibility in a down year.

Im starting to think this "five star" guy on here that has been rambling along about Nance, is actually Nash Nance. I think he is on here talking up about himself, to try to get a opinion on what vol fans think about him. If you would of just told us it was you from the beginning and asked us questions about you, we would of gave you a honest answer.

I would tend to agree that next year will be more of a race than people might think. Obviously, Simms would be the leader with Bray a very close 2nd. However, I think Nance has some good upside (size, quick release, mobility) and could potentially make it a very interesting race next year. Worley would definitely redshirt next year if we end up signing him.
