Give me your Top 3 canidates...

The list stops at two:
A. Gruden
B. Schiano
If anyone else is hired the plan failed but you will hear. We didn’t talk to anyone else. He was our guy from the start.

How could anyone be happy with, or even tolerate, a Bobo/Norvell hire? All they have done as a head coach so far is inherit a program built up by their predecessor and not completely wreck things yet. That's basically what Butch was. An unjustifiably stupid hire.

If you're going to look at coaches who inherited a relatively built team/program from their predecessor, there should be some indication that they've been able to maintain or exceed the standard set by the predecessor over a long period of time. (Patterson, Peterson).

Also, if you think Tennessee should pursue DJ Durkin, it looks like you've accepted that Tennessee should just start at the bottom tier and work your way down.

DJ is a good coach.... not good enough to get that next step job imo, but his OC is a great one.

DJ Durkin is a fantastic coach adn a winner. He's bringing Maryland to national prominance breaking in a 4rth string QB and a bunch of injuries. He at least keeps them looking respectable in a loss. He has deep florida recruiting ties and was on Florida staff at one point and was D coordinator of Michigan at one point. He will be competing with and beating Urban and Ohio st. in a short period of time. If you don't know him yet you will soon. He hits all the check marks. Have fun with you gruden or bust campaign.

1: Frost (not likley, UCF is throwing everything they have at this guy to keep him and he is known for taking care of his assistants, but a good hire.

2: DJ durkin, this guy is on the short list and likely. The only reason he is above Venables is because he HAS head coaching experience, but Dj Durkin and Venables are pretty much equals besides that. I don't see a lot of difference in the two.

3: Brohm : Lots of ra ra rage... he's fun though. would keep things interesting. Not sure he would be a good long term solution though. He's got a newer contract at purdue so you are going to over pay for him and hope he is the guy. He is sure to have brain damage so you are going to pay medicals bills if he sticks around long term successfully. Ultimately, we are at the point where we need a long term solution. Not sure Brohm is that guy.

Totally spaced on Dantonio! Makes the same salary as Butch. Would do well here though. I'm unsure how well he would recruit in the south, but otherwise an ideal choice. It's going to be someone like one of these guys.

1) Jon Gruden
2) Chip Kelly
3) Scott Frost

I could be convinced on some others. So, my list is certainly subject to change at any moment.

James Franklin would be best option but not likely.
Garden would be next choice but a little worried about him actually wanting to go out and recruit.
3. Patterson wanted the job in 08 and the guy most likely to take the job.

This is who I want us to try to get.
Not necessarily who I think we have a good shot at.
So, list who you would want us to pursue and in what order.

1. Gruden
2. Kelly
3. Patterson
4. Petersen
5. Cooter
6. Fuentes
7. Frost
8. Brohm
9. Schiano
10. Mullen

Others receiving votes: T.Martin, Strong, Doreen, Norvell, Cutcliffe, Kiffin? (no, I can’t do that, delete). Bobo? - hell no, you can’t wash off the dawg stench. Petrino? - maybe if he’d sell his Harley. Stoops? - he just said no to a return a few weeks ago and hates the SEC and would have to be beat his brother - but, yeah, I’d take him.

Lol. I can't tell if y'all are serious about Gruden or just stupid? He's not coming period.

Hell if we're going unrealistic I'll have belichek or Saban.

Putting those feelings aside, who are some names you want us to pursue?

Since nobody ever wants to predict realistic choices. Here we go.

1. Belichek
2. Nick Saban
3. God
4. Jon Gruden
5. Chip Kelly
6. Reincarnated Bear Bryant
