Give me your Top 3 canidates...

I would love to see Les Miles

He would be my 1-3 right now

He knows the league and has had the second best team behind Alabama for years.

And that was when the west was loaded, I would love to see him in the east & at a school that can recruit quarterbacks

YES! He would win the East every year.

LOL :crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy:

He is the only guy out there that has a relationships built in the south. And he was very successful in the West when the west had most of their teams in the top 25.... don't see the crazy?

Nobody suggested that we skip the part where we try to hire an big-name coach. But's it very possible, if not probable, that none of them want to be at Tennessee. So I want to know who's the best of who's left.

Fair question.
But I hate the thought.
Carry on

Other than Petersen, Gruden, Kelly, Patterson, Shaw, and other obvious longshots like Swinney... who do you got in your top 3?

My top 5:

1-Kelly (since we can't use him, the following become my top 3)

2-Dan Mullen (develops offense and that is what we need/Brings Todd Grantham with him as well)

3-Tee Martin (if USC makes the playoff, I am all about offering him the job/ however, no playoff, no offer)

4-Charlie Strong (I don't think there is much difference between him and Kirby Smart. Just make right OC hire. Recruits South Florida better than anyone / Defensive mastermind in SEC / Has chip on his shoulder for getting hired over at Florida not once, but twice)

5- Les Miles (At this point, make the Rick Barnes hire. Would rather hire Les than a mid major coach with no name ID/Recruiting Prowess/No experience in the SEC. Les has a lot of football left, can recruit. Obviously, we would have to break the bank for his offensive staff. No more Joe Schmo's. If he won't hire great talent on the offensive side of the ball, we do not hire him)

DISCLAIMER: Chip Kelly is still number 1 on my list.

1. The guy we end up hiring who I have to google to see who he is.
2. I guess Gruden because everyone hears angels sing when his name is mentioned.
3.

If history is any kind of a teacher, Gruden, Kelly, Bob Stoops, Patterson, and Peterson are totally unrealistic choices. With that being said, for what I know, the top 3 realistic choices would be:
1. Brohm
2. Venables
3. Babers or Strong

I would actually put DJ up there with Brohm, but other wise... pretty good list.

Forgot about Durkin and Frost. Both should receive strong consideration. Probably put Frost 3rd and Durkin a close 4th. Any of those and the other 3 I mentioned would be acceptable to me.
