I got this recipe from my father and he is a chilli expert. I have made it several times and it is the best, period.

Crimson Tide Gameday Chilli (You can call it Volunteer but it won't taste near as good).:)

Use the biggest soup pot you can find or you will need to cut this in half. Dice up 1 large onion, 1 bell pepper and 1 jalepeno(seeded if you don't like a little heat). Saute this in the pot with a few drops of vegetable oil. Then throw in 1 pound of ground breakfast sausage and 1 pound of ground beef. When it is done drain off all the grease. Add about one third of a pot of water. Keep it on medium heat and start adding 2 cans diced Rotell Tomatoes, 2 small cans tomatoe sauce, 1 can drained pinto beans, 1 can drained kidney beans, 3 big spoons of chilli powder, 1 big spoon of salt, 1 small spoon of cumin, 1 large spoon of yellow mustard, and 1 small spoon of Worcestershire sauce. Bring this to a simmer for about an hour. Season it with salt, red pepper, hot sauce, and more chilli powder to suit your taste. It will also be much better on the second and third day. Top with tortilla chips and grated cheddar. Enjoy!

I use coarse ground chuck - you can ask for it at the store. It stays in bigger chunks when you cook it.
