Give me a break! We beat UGA @ home, we can beat A/M

It's possible we can win a shootout with them. That's the hope I have. I don't see Vols being able to stop them...unless Butch has something up his sleeve we don't know about.

This has the Oregon game from a couple yr's back written all over it. The key injuries are one of the big issues.

It can be done imo...but this game is as tough as it gets.

My gosh man. That was like the #1 team in the nation at home vs Butch just then taking on the Doolittle disaster team. What are we chopped liver?

Oregon hung 59 on us and could have put up 70+ had they tried. You serious Clark?

How come no one is talking about how bad this A&M team struggled last weekend against a crappy South Carolina Team? Just Asking

easier to dismiss that performance considering SN, RSJ, MG, and their starting LT didn't make the trip to Columbia.

with probably 3 of the 4 back this week, and we're still gonna be down CS, JRM, and DKjr, i think that's the biggest reason why.

We do have some injured players. We do have some w/r that probably make the NFL. I'm just saying, when we beat UGA the other day and some of their fans had already left to celebrate the win, reminds me when I was at the Arkansas game and Stoener(sp) fumbled the ball and we came back and won. By that time, All the Doubters, UT fans, probably 1/3 of the fan base at the game, had already left the stadium.

I was at the game too, and no, 1/3 of the stadium had not left.

One thing is for sure, I hope the players aren't reading any of your posts or the other 30% on here thinking the sky is falling!

How in the flying F did you get that I think "the sky is falling" from the post you responded to?? I swear to God, you people......

I know we can beat A&M but we CAN'T get off to another slow start. This is by far the best defense we've seen all year. Start fast, play hard and no show boating on possible TD's and we have a legit shot.

Agreed. And That Hurd TD. was a Sure thing What a bonehead play. We need The Hurd we have all grown to know, have a career day. Go Vols

It's unreal, these nancies, I'm embarrassed that we're fans of the same program. It's unbelievable.

I think the 100% full time sunshine pumpers are as bad as the 100% NegaVols. Like 2 sides of a coin.

the way I remember it...gotta play the game on the field...everything else is fluff...for any that think this team will lay down for the Aggies have another thing coming...:naughty:

GO VOLS!

Yep...I could see this playing in our favor. A&M hear all week how they are the better team, we have all these injuries, and we come out and punch them in the mouth and surprise them.

One other thing that I think will play in our favor is the trust and faith this team has in Butch Jones/vice versa. I don't know much about the relationship between Sumlin and his players, but I do notice a lot of celebrating and some might say cockiness through their team. No matter how many times their coaches preach to them to reign it in, I could definitely see them coming into this game thinking they're king sh*t and have us come out and do to them what James J. Braddock did to Max Baer.

Nobody gave Denver a chance to beat Carolina in Super Bowl 50, and they absolutely dominated The Panthers and made them look like they never belonged on the same field as Denver. I'm not comparing our defense to that of one of the best defenses in the NFL, but my point is you never know who's going to show up on gameday until it gets here. We're 5-0 and a pretty damn talented group even despite our key injuries. I think we can beat Texas A&M.

Uh, no. I was at that miserable rainy game too and yes some people left, maybe 10%. But we are going to bury A&M in Grant's Tomb😀

I'm still trying to figure out how A&M was a massive train wreck in the spring & now they're being lauded as the best team to ever assemble!

Who is saying that A&M is so unbeatable? I don't know what shows you guys are watching. Yes, many are picking A&M to win which isn't a stretch. I see it as one hell of a contest as do most Aggies. If you are making your assumptions based on some A&M message boards then you need to go and poll the other 50K students and the alumni. I don't know one Aggie that isn't nervous about this game. Both teams are facing their best opponent yet. It's pretty simple.

i agree. from a TN perspective, i think going on the road in that particular environment off the two emotional wins we just got, and more importantly being w/out Maybin, Sutton and Kirkland is a tall task. aTm has the offensive weaponry to take advantage of it.

and i don't see us coming from a 3 score deficit in this one, this is definitely the best offense we've seen so far.

what gives me hope and has prevented me for just saying aTm is going to win, is as good as your front four is, you've given up a ton of yards. and we have some guys that can do that, and also score.

so i think it will be two offenses that make plays against defenses that are better than this game will show, and should be a pretty high scoring affair. i could see this being 38-34 type game. who comes out on top? i'll tell you when/if we're the ones with 34, and time still on the clock...:)

I read the thread on Swain this morning and it annoyed me, but that's ok, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Shortly after I scrolled through facebook and saw an article titled "Tennessee won't remain unbeaten after Saturday, and it won't be pretty."

People predicting a blowout, or basically guaranteeing a loss, is what kills me. When this season started, we all hung our hats on the fact that we were 9-4 and lost all 4 games in 2015 by a combined 17 points.

Now we're 5-0 and STILL our last 4 losses are by a combined 17 points (2 playoff teams and the SEC East champ made up 3 of them), and we're supposed to be intimidated by Texas A&M?

We haven't lost in 11 games, and haven't been blown out since mid-2014...... but sure, Texas A&M is going to stomp us. Why not, right?

Sorry, I'm just so sick of hearing about how surely this team is going to beat us. If I was an Aggie I would be terrified of this game. I wouldn't want to face an undefeated team knowing that even if we have a late lead, they can and likely will come back, because they've been doing it ALL. YEAR. LONG.

Simple; they play us this year. Tennessee is the resurrection for struggling SECw teams; all they need is for the SEC to arrange the date as our rotating partner for the year. People should be getting on the LSU wagon early for next years revival.
