It pisses me off reading what some of you say about Kiffin. Quit being damn fair weather fans. Hell he came into a situation that he has to majorly build up. Think about it, we are a decent QB away from being 4-1 possibly 5-0. He didn't make the damn WR's drop those passes. He didn't make Crompton throw it over their heads. I agree it doesn't hurt to try Stephens. But obviously he thinks something is wrong that he doesn't play him. Look at the talent he has brought in and recruiting now. If he's still not putting up the wins in a few years, then make a comment. Otherwise shut up

Of people talking bad about Lane and the new staff. I was at the game and Lane called a great game! Our qb and recievers are terrible. Cheese-it was left a good team, we onthe other hand had Fulmer and Trooper recruiting for us. Lane is doing the best he can with the talent given. Let the man get his own talent in before everybody tells him how to do his job!

I agree with the 'time needed' thought. However the ever-increasing frustration level of doing the same thing and expecting different results is insane. The comparisons of Chizik (inherited his team from LY and is now 5-0) and Kiffin (inherited his team from LY and is now 2-3) are starting, and in a way, are starting to make sense.

I don't know if anyone has said anything about this yet but Bruce Irvin changed his commitment to Arizona State this weekend on his visit there.

Unfortunately, when you perform on national TV like Vols have this year, it won't be the last de-commitment.

Lane needs to let someone else handle play calling duties (which likely won't happen for a long time - but it can be tough on the HC to be in charge of playing calling too, especially a relatively new HC I'm sure) - that's the one thing that hasn't impressed me with him and his staff so far. Some of his calls inside the 10 have been rather bad (including last night).

He also needs to quit calling pass plays where Crompton doesn't have a safety valve/dump off option - when he doesn't it usually results in something very bad.

I don't see why it would hurt to let Chaney call the plays or at least have input on it..

I cannot stand all the criticism of Kiffin and the game play. We are still rebuilding and getting the team KIFFIN WANTS!! We are stuck with Fulmer players, you all know beside Berry and Hardesty and like 2 others Fulmer left us with crap.

We are starting 2 or 3 walk ons and we cant do anything about it. We are stuck with the worst QB ever to be recruited out of high school to a Div. 1 level. We are so thin in some areas but as some of you FAIR WEATHERED fans dont see how well Kiffin and Co. are recruiting and we will be better. We got heck of a class bout to come in and JUST GIVE HIM TIME!! Yall put up with Fulmer forever so just let Kiffin and staff get it together. We are 5 games in and yall are bashing this guy like idiots.

Yes Kiffin ran his mouth talking about we were gonna win and all this year but everything has not worked as well as hoped but it was also to fire the fan base up! Ive never been so excited about the next couple years and what we have to come. I BEG all fair weather fans get off these board now so when we win you wont be allowed back!

This is my first topic to start, i mainly read post but im so fed up I cant stand reading these negative Vol fans.

Can I get any support, does anyone else understand where Im coming from!?!:td:

but fulmer brought in horrible recruiting classes which is why we are in the position we are in now. Auburn had good recruiting classes before chizik got there notice a difference?

Couldn't agree with you more. I'm so sick of it too. I know once Kiffin gets his player in there things will turn around. I hate to make the comparasion to Saban but his first year he went 6-6, actually lost to LA-Monroe. But in his third year look at them now, number 3 in the country, after finishing 12-2 last season. As Vols fans, we just have to let Kiffin and staff do they jobs and bring in the talent, so we can get back to the top.

Exactly! When we have only one good class in 4-5 year span we have nothing to look forward to til we cycle those players out and get news ones in the program.

I'm with you. Last night was a huge indicator of how much talent Tubbs left at Auburn and how little Fulmer left at UT.

Many if not most NFL HC's call their own plays. I think CLK will likely keep doing it as long as Monte is there to be the HC of the defense and then after if Orgeron becomes DC.

Irvin's de-commitment had nothing to do with our performance on the field. There was a good chance he wasn't going to qualify for UT anyway.

Recruits don't pay as much attention to on-field performance as you think they do. The UCLA game is evidence of that, when we landed 3 top recruits after losing.

Exactly when we have only one good class in 4-5 year span we have nothing to look for. We have to cycle out the bad classes and Kiffin will replenish the Vols with well rounded kids that play ball.

This isn't the NFL and most NFL coaches? You sure about that one? And Lane is a very young and inexperienced coach. He has a lot more to deal with that isn't as directly related to football being a college HC and doesn't have near the practice time and stuff as an NFL HC.

I agree. Our crowd noise was poor at the beginning of the game yesterday too. Our fan base is sucking. Probably bottom of the SEC imo.
