Give Butch a raise

I love butch as much as anyone and think he is doing an amazing job I really do. That said he doesn't deserve a raise just yet. We may have to up thig to keep him but the only way I see butch getting any more money right now is to take a call from another school and use that for leverage. I highly doubt he would do that though, anything like that would hurt his whole recruiting model.

Yeah I wouldn't give him one yet. He is going to bring us back to the top of college football there is no doubt about that. I think the only way you give him a raise is if he starts "flirting" with some other openings. Then you send the house at him because you can't afford to lose him and start all over again. I think VN would self distruct if that were to happen lol

According to Mr Google, Butch is 9th in pay in the SEC. He is better than 9th, IMO. When he leaves for a better job- we will all be sorry.

Give him a small raise if we win the bowl game. Then if he does bolt, HE pays a 10 mil payback to the school. NO more of this Fulmer/Dooley payout crappola:thumbsup:. IF they don't do the job satisfactorily, FIRE them, don't give them Free money. If I got fired, I would be shown the door. I would not be shown a pay raise.

All this bolting, leaving, for whatever reason is total garbage. CBJ has and is pouring his heart and soul into this program. He said that was what he was going to do and he has done exactly that. All you douche bags need to get off CBJ and be patient. I believe with all of my heart we have the right man to lead us back to dominance. 2016-17... Put him to the fire. Until then...STFU

An SEC coach would never sign a contract without a payout. Florida owes Muschamp over 6 million plus up to another 2 million for his assistants.

That sez it all-give the man a rise in income- he has earned it. Put a sweetener in the deal- an extra 500 K if we win the east and one more 500 K for an SEC championship. I know we were only 6-6, but look how much better the direction of the program is. Butch said he would restore us to glory- so far-so good. If he bolts for Michigan or somewhere like that, do we really want to start over again? He is not the type to get paid and then get lazy; he is a pure competitor . He wants to be the best.

Surprised this has only two likes so far.

Make his pay equal to where you think he rates in the sec coaches. You for sure better pay his best recruiters or they are GONE! He was pissed that they didn't get a bump last year. This is the world of college football, like it or not.

But give him a pay raise..lol because he has done so much. If he loses the bowl game he will have the same record as dools thru 2 yrs. But by all means give him more..

Geez . this guy has done nothing other than recruiting to show he will win championships at tn.. Yr 3 baby no freaking excuses.. We r young nope. He needs his players nope. It's yr zero nope.. The players r not sec talent. Nope.... He needs time to implement his system....nope..they need more time n this great s&c program.. Nope. So bottom line they need to start beating ranked teams n not lose at home.

Probably not time for a raise based on record alone...all around improvement next year may warrant more for CBJ and staff....but you cannot honestly compare him to your boy Dooley....the differences are striking.

CBJ is doing better with players his staff is bringing in...yep. Year 2 is progression instead of regression...yep Attitude and culture is much better, and the team is actually more competitive through all 4 quarters...yep Depth matters and it actually does take more than a year to develop young players... Yep.

Bottom line - we were a stronger OCC opponent from losing 8 games in Dooley's last 2 years. How about a little better critical analysis before comparing cinnamon rolls to sweetbread?

15 minutes after Butch bolts for another school everyone in this thread would be calling for Dave Hart's head for not doing it.

Doubt it. 15 minutes after he bolts for another school, the Gruden threads will start followed by the inundation of "smokescreen" and "soon" gifs.

Only after we are again rejected by Gruden and Hart hires someone no one has ever heard of will the calls for his head begin.

I expected Jimmie Sexton's screen name to be something different than JACK1234

I would be keeping in touch with Butch regards his future. I like the idea of pay for performance and $$$ for winning the East, winning the SEC, winning a bowl, and winning the National Champs should always be out there. I'd give a couple of the assistant coaches a year more to get some things fixed, if not, I'd look at new position coach. Hard to blame all the offense issues on Mahoney given the cupboard is bare and he is starting over from last year.

Wow, you folks never learn, do you? No wonder we're still paying Dooley.

Butch hasn't done anything to warrant a raise. Based on his performance, he doesn't deserve to make more money than any coach in the SEC, save Stoops and Mason.

But, I do agree that you need to pay your top recruiting assistants big money. They're the only ones keeping this ship afloat.

When asked for a raise, I hope that Dave Hart will explain to Butch that it's a process, that the money has never even been on a plane before, and that many experts picked him to only make 1 or 2 million dollars this year anyway.
