Gonna start off here by saying that the negavols needs to lay off the pipe. Because the team and the coaches just showed us we are going to have a very good year.

Points I want to debunk...

A) our secondary.. Did very good tonight, yes they have some things to work on, but anyone who has played the game knows how much pressure gets put on our DB's when you blitz as much as we did tonight. They were burnt a couple times, but it is first game in a new system. but we had 4 INT on a QB who was getting sold to us in pregame show as better then TB.

B) Front 7 are BEASTS.. Glennon was feeling the pressure on almost every play of the game... the man spent more time on his butt then he did standing up in the game.

Overall our defense is GREATLY improved.. They disrupted the game on many occasions which almost never happened last year.

C) Run game, anyone who is trying to say this was not a HUGE improvement over last year is grasping at straws. I still saw a few bad habits surface from last year.. namely trying to bounce to outside to often when there was nothing there.. cost us a few yards a couple times when we could have at least gotten back to LOS if not picked up 1 or 2 if they just plowed forward.. but overall the diffrence between last year is amazing.. CJG needs a raise

D) CP > DR.. just saying just as good production if not more without the drama. Nuff Said

E) ZR is a balla, he blew away the "BEST" DB in the nation.. that was no fluke. If he shows up like that vs our SEC opponents we will not be stopped

F) F+ (3 more letters you all know) all yall who still tryin to hate. We just man handled a team the experts were saying was going to beat us.

If you honestly still think our coaching is suspect then you need to go be a fan of an easier sport to understand cause Foozball is to hard for you.

P.S. The only call in the game you could really question was the QB sneak which BTW.. was a TD, replay clearly showed it, even the espn analysts who hate us agreed that it was a TD. OR MAYBE going for it on 4th down.. but if we would have went FG and Palardy missed it the outcry saying he should have went for it would have been meltdown worthy.

like I have said since spring.. 10 wins this year and we will probably be back in the dome before the year is out.. The only two team I think may hang with us is Bama and UGA and both games are winnable.

Both of those games will mostly rely on how we bounce back from adversity .

CP is amazing. And after this game, his confidence should be through the roof. He will have at least 3 TDs against Georgia State. Then Florida will double team him, leaving guess who? Justin Hunter wide open, who will exact his revenge for the ACL tear last year in the Swamp.

We're going to Athens 5-0, fellas.

I would question the 3rd and 1 pass and the 4th and 1 outside run but I'm nitpicking. Good game on both sides. Improvements are needed but what team doesn't need improvement after the first game.

I still think we are a 7-8 win team this year. Do we have potential to win 10 games? Yes, but I think that only happens if we remain extremely healthy (unrealistically healthy...our depth on D is really not there). It's possible, but not likely.

The missed extra point wasn't Palardy's fault, but he still kicks the ball way too low. I was glad to see him make the 2 field goals, but I see him getting a couple of kicks blocked this year, because he kicks at about a 40 degree angle, when he needs to get it up to about 55. It's unbelievable to me that we can't find a better kicker.

I'm not too excited after the win because I don't think NC State is a very good team. I'm very happy we won, and I'm very happy that the o-line seems much improved with run blocking, but I'm not as optimistic as the OP.

Glennon got lucky on about 4 busted coverages that resulted in 150 of his yards. (estimations) Those were nothing other than missed assignments. Correct those secondary mistakes to go along with the pressure our front 7 created tonight and this could be a top 10 defense. Murray is the next QB we'll see that is as good as Glennon. Plenty of time to correct Secondary assignments.

might be jumping the gun a little on C. Imo.

how so? everyone been stating all off season if we only had a semblance of a run game we would be golden.. just need to average 130-150.

We just busted 200 when we couldn't even do 100 last year..

By my math that is a pretty big improvement.

And plenty enough to keep defenses honest.

Exactly. Other than not fumbling, Neal hasn't shown anything different than last year. I'm not a huge fan of the pistol stretch plays. However, I think our best running game are the dive plays from shotgun. Anything that forces the runningbacks to run north and south is a good thing.

This really gets to me.. same thing happened last year with cincy

Before the game its all.. OMG they are awesome and we better watch out cause they are going to beat us.

Then after we destroy them.. its all "oh they weren't a very good team"

it cant be both ways.

You should know Tennessee fans always discount the bug runs. They expect 5-7 every play, a big run play just hides the fact that the run game sucks.

Got lucky? Okay let's give the guy some credit. He made some good throws to his TEs on some seam routes. Give credit where it's due.

You never saw me saying NC Stats was "awesome." I see them as possibly a top 50 team in the nation, that's it. Of course, that's nothing but pure speculation, they could prove me wrong and end up ranked at the end of the year...I doubt it though. I was very happy to see us beat them solidly. I thought this game would go down to the wire.

I'm not ready to give CJG a raise just yet, but I did think he called a good offensive game. But I still get frustrated with running so much with a single back with Bray in the shotgun. It was obvious Neal and Lane ran the ball a lot more successfully whenever Bart was lined up at FB in that offset I look they ran some in the 2nd half. He did a nice job taking out a LB on several plays. But still not happy w/ the 3rd and 1 pass and running Neal outside out of a shotgun formatiion of 4th and 1, but overall I thought CJG called a good offensive game. I did think he would use Rivera more against their inexperienced LB corp, but I guess when he found out every WR UT has could just blow by Amerson, they shelved a lot of the short stuff.

Bama and UGA may hang with us?

ya, they have a chance.. don't sell them short they are good teams :lolabove:

Seriously.. prove me wrong, so far my predictions are all good

200+ yds rushing.. I got laughed at and ridiculed.. but looky what happened..

300+ yds passing.. again got laughed at because OMG that would put us over 500yds vs the best secondary in the nation.. rabble rabble rabble.. amerson is the real deal.. no way we post those kind of numbers against him

but yet again oh looky what happened

So you all keep doubting and thinking I am crazy. Dont bother me. Ill have a thread like this after every game

Why not just try being glad we manhandled a pretty good acc team instead of being negative. And 7-8 wins is crazy. Name the 4 or 5 teams that will beat us. We've got things to work on but overall I'm thrilled

I can agree with this to a point.. Ol'Ben did seem to help the run game when he was in..

He also had a couple clutch catches, I was VERY impressed with his play tonight.

On a side note, while I understood what you were saying. CJG = Graham who is the running backs coach.. he dont call the plays..

Cheney was calling the plays, and I liked what he did about 98% of the time, like some of the Nega's I could question a couple of his calls.. but you know the old saying.. If it worked he would be a genius, but since they didn't every arm chair QB in the nation thinks they know better then the professional when in fact, if any of us did we would be making millions in coaching

Florida is a toss-up. UGA, Bama, S.C. will beat us IMO.

And if our defense gets banged up, I really fear for this team's capability considering our lack of depth.

If we have major injury problems (which he have had the last 3 years), we could also lose to another team easily.

I am very happy we won tonight. I saw lots of things that were encouraging, but I'm not going to get my hopes up like I did last year after Cincinnati. One fluke injury to Hunter, Patterson, or Bray and our offense could go to Hell...much like last year.

How are we gonna finish 10-2 if we are better than Bama and UGA?

Wouldn't we be 12-0?
