Gillispie and Pearl SEC coaches of the year

I agree with everyone who has been saying that Billy G doesn't deserve it. UK was picked to finish second and did. UT was picked to finish first and did. And UT has been great all year. Injuries??? ---UK lost a game by 41 with Patterson in the lineup.

Billy G got coach of the year because he showed up at some charity event for Cancer Kids and said a few words. An event that was going on next door and he had to be asked by some of the students to participate in. What a Man that Billy G is! I'm expecting a nobel peace prize to accompany the COY honor.

in the article in the herald leader Billy Gillispie says he voted for Pearl. and Pearl says he voted for stansbury. none of the other coaches were quoted but thats how it was

ok i am sick of the dogging about uk. John Pelphrey is a great man and a great coach, he wouldnt hold a grudge on anybody because their not kentucky. and if you dont think kentucky has had injuries this year then your crazy because our top 6 players have missed a combined 38 games this year. and billy g has done a great job in the sec and there is nothing you can say to prove that he hasnt.

The great coach part is yet to be determined. Some more knowledgeable than I would argue that Pelphrey was handed the reigns to the second most talented team in the SEC this year.

Keep in mind that this is a Tennessee board. I am sure that Billy Clyde is beeing praised on most of the Cat boards this morning.

Again, if the roles were reversed, and this had happened at UK all hell would be breaking loose.

1) Tennessee board. Don't like your team being dogged then go to Catspause.

2) Clyde did just fine during the SEC (minus the 41 point shellacking)

3) He did TERRIBLY during the OOC schedule.

I am 100% certain that you cannot back up a single word of this.

Keno Davis will win hands down.

He's worthy - good call. But objectively speaking, what Bruce has accomplished so far is worthy as well IMO.

It's a difficult comparison, b/c the best team Drake has played (and beaten, once) is Butler, and there aren't any close seconds. Tennessee has numerous big wins against highly ranked opponents, in much more high profile environments, and also captured the #1 ranking, something the program has never even sniffed.

There, I corrected your post so that it conforms with reality.

you have to consider Davidson coach Bob McKillop

Gillispie lost 12 games, lost to Gardner Webb and will back into the NCAAs and he's coach of the year? Are you serious??? :post-4-1090547912:

I still think its a joke that KY is even being considered...Just my opinion...12 losses...Give me a break...13 after losing a game in the SEC tourney....If they get in with that record then somethings rigged.

He's happy at Oral Roberts. It'll take a really good job to get him to leave. He turned down Wichita State last year.

Is he that happy there or is it that he wants a better opportunity than Wichita State?

Kentucky was 20th in the preseason AP Rankings. Although some of their losses were to teams that are not very recognizable, those teams did well during the season. All except Gardner-Webb which finished 16-16. GW beat UK by a score of 84-68.

BCG's sharing COY is such a farce. Coach Pearl versus Otis Campbell this year. Sure, they split games, but check out the Vandy scores. Seems this must have been a popularity contest instead. Bunch of old dried up prunes who cannot take the fact that Coach Pearl has made basketball exciting.
