Grow up..get a life...

Trust me! I would like nothing better than for you to stick it to Behr and butchna....Trust me! :)

But in this case, you're out of your mind. Enough with the namby-pamby PC BS. Fulmer told it how it is which is exactly what this University needs at this time!

UT sports are a laughingstock around the country. No one cares what happened 100 years ago in college football. You can't live on reputation alone. Pretty soon the truth unearths itself and at the present time it isn't pretty for UT.

So Coach Pruitt got rid of an assistant and the AD backed him up on it in a way a former coach would. I think that's great!

Big boy business = coaching carousel. That's why they get paid the big bucks.

Fulmer may not have the gift of the silver tongue but I prefer that he says what comes to mind.

So Pruitt and Gillespie "didn't mesh" which was obvious and well-reported and we can all speculate on exactly what was promised or not promised or what Pruitt's bar was that Gillespie failed to clear if there was one and how it all went down.

But so what? It's water over the dam. Look forward, move forward. Tennessee football is coming back whether y'all like it or not.

People shouldn't get too worked up. A four win season in the SEC gets you fired, whether your name is Gillespie or Christ.

I suspect this has actually been a known thing for a while. Pruitt had a desire for him to leave but Pruitt wanted him on board until recruiting was over.

Also do not get hung up over Gillespie being "terminated".

That just means whatever clause in his contract that makes him more money is enforced where it might not have been if he just quit.

It could have been a quid pro quo between Pruitt and Gillespie. "You stay on until after signing day and I'll make sure you get paid the max you are owed."

Not sure if that's it, but it probably wasn't scandalous.

Are you trying to say that Jesus Christ couldn't get us more than 4 wins:eek:hmy:, maybe we should hire Jobu as RB's coach? I love Major League.

Lol. I cant feel sorry for Gilliespie if he gets paid 510K to sit out a season. He's one of the best at his position, if he wants to work right away I have no doubt he will find a spot. If he wants to take a season off and take an extended paid vacation he can do that as well.

IDK that Weinke is a better position coach but chemistry amongst the staff is important as these guys will be together a ton of hours during the week. I think there was some divide amongst the old staff. Better to get this addressed and move forward.

Yep 👍🏼

I think he is a good coach. And on the west coast the importance of a deep coaching bench is not as important, but FL recruiting is!

We’ve actually done well in Florida in recruiting, when we have reached out there. Recruiting skilled players has never been our problem, but we need a good RB coach, a teacher.

He’ll probably stay down South, but SC is very interested.

Well, I'm not getting involved in the mudslinging, and have no idea what went on behind the scenes, but the running backs performed extremely well under Gillespie, especially given being pre-hobbled by the offensive scheme, much as the offensive line did under Pittman. I believe we're going to regret the loss of Gillespie in much the same way as we regretted the loss of Pittman.

Depends on how Weinke does. As in the Pittman example, there are many coaches who can do the job...you just have to hire them. Gillespie is good...but replaceable. Pittman is great but...

I care about the image of my University. I care about the image that the leaders of my University portray. I care about the image that Phil portrays. His comment was demeaning and off-base. Phil needs help with media relations. That’s why I care.

Politicians? They’re job is a necessary evil that no one else wants to do. I don’t listen or pay attention to what most politicians say. I only pay attention to their actions or lack there of..

His comments were neither demeaning nor were they off base. They were spot on. It’s a big boy business, Gillespie understands how it works....while he gets paid $510,000 this year not to coach at Tennessee before getting another plumb coaching job next year at some other university. You’re trying way to hard here to make something out of literally nothing.
