The author is a clown who must be on Martin's payroll. To call CBP who took a recruit to a BBQ at his house an unprincipled cheater is pure unmitigated BS.

Except . . . that's not really what got him in so much trouble . . . but there's already a thread devoted to that.

I think he does make a solid point (which is shocking considering it's Gilbert) regarding the economics of the Athletic Department. Maybe the results haven't been quite what we'd like, but it would be completely asinine to fire a guy who is winning 20 games a year and take on another buyout while you're already paying $10 million+ in buyouts.

Well I guess time will tell...but I don't think Bruce was the only coach who ever had a misdeed. His was made public and he basically got in trouble for getting caught in a lie. He wasn't changing grades, paying players, or anything else I would perceive as worse than most other "unprincipled cheaters."
Does this author have an alias because this sounds like Len Elmore. I will give Cuonzo another year but we need to finish on a high note.

How can he be on the payroll when he said he wouldn't give him a raise or extension.When Bruce was here i thought he could do no wrong but he did.So it's time to move on and if Martin don't get the job done, he will be gone and they will find another coach who will always be compared to Bruce until he makes it to the final 4

He was also telling them to lie as well.That is flat out wrong

That's what a few of us have tried to address but it makes us even more of Martin slurpers or something...:fact is we are winning 20 games a year and attendance is top 7 two years in a row...may not be what the fans want but he very well may get 2 more years even if he misses the dance next year.

20 win seasons aren't what they used to be in basketball. When your team plays 34 or 35, a 20 win season is basically the equivalent of 7-5 in football. 20 really should be the minimum standard, not a benchmark.

But, yeah, 20 won't get Cuonzo Martin fired. He has every chance to start a string of season well north of 20 next year. Otherwise, he'll finish out the contract and Tennessee will move on.

Hooked on Phonics and English classes need to become your best friend, because obviously you have below average reading comprehension. I said "misdemeanor robbery", which in TN, is below $500. Obviously mega billions is more. My god, if you're going to try to make an argument, learn to read what you're arguing against.

You need a little reading comprehension therapy also because the conspiracy to defraud the NCAA is a worse crime than a simple face to face lie.

Suffice to say next season may be a make or break season for CCM. Do agree he deserves 4 yrs. He has been solid, just not spectacular. A top 10-15 recruiting class, W-L record and entry to the dance are goals he will be judged on.
