Ghosts..... Have you ever seen them?

about 12 years ago, when i was a senior in high school, some friends of mine and i were looking for a place that would could go drinking/smoking without getting busted. we found a tiny, old abandoned house and drove up next to it. this was towards the end of november in TN, so it was pretty freaking cold out. well, we drank about one beer each when we noticed that there was another old abandoned house about 100 yards away that was even creepier than the first. to give you an idea about the first house that we found, it looked identical to the cabin from "the evil dead," which is what we called the place since it was the town where the first evil dead movie was filmed.

anyway, this other house that was back a little ways and further up a slight hill seemed to have a light turn on in it. now there were no powerlines connected to the house, and this house was probably 100 years old at least. we freaked out, jumped in the car and left. the next night, we were like, "yeah, we got creeped out, but we were just seeing things so let's go back again." so we went back, drove up the short little driveway, and sat there for about a minute before we saw what looked like camera flashes going off all over the place on the outside of the house. it was colder than crap and almost winter so it wasn't lightning bugs which we have in the summer. this was really freaky, and we all screamed. altogether there were 5 of us that witnessed this, including my gf at the time. the following week, my gf and i went to our local library just to see if we could find anything about the history of the place. we were able to find that there was a house around the road that was turned into a hospital during the civil war, and that people had reported hearing voices and seeing lights as far back as the early 1900's. so we were convinced at this point that it was the house and that it was haunted.

fast forward a year: no one would go back to the house with me except one of my closest friends who i played in a band with. he's a drummer, i'm a guitarist. the house was literally halfway between where he lived and i lived, so often after jamming we would go up to the house and see how long we could chill before getting creeped out and leaving. well, one night we drove up, and he had just bought slayer's "reigning blood" on cd. it was completely scratch free and never been played before, so he put it in the cd player and as soon as we were about to pull into the driveway next to the house, the cd started skipping. that freaked us out a little. we checked out the cd and there was nothing wrong with it, so we just turn off the cd player and watched the house. now, something we had observed with the house before is that the house would actually light up a bit, and sometimes fog would start rolling in while this occured. it almost looked like the house was being hit with headlights from a car, but it was up on a hill and we would be able to see any cars that would cause that if that were the case. so we were waiting to see if the house would light up this night, and for some reason it wasn't. while we were waiting we thought we heard a car coming down the road, but it was taking forever to get closer to us. so we rolled down our windows to figure out what was going on, cause this had probably taken 5 minutes or so. after we rolled the windows down, we realized what we were hearing wasn't a car, but 2 voices having a conversation. we couldn't understand what they were saying. they were faint, and almost sounded like they were chanting. despite being faint, we could hear were they were coming from which was about 3 or 4 feet away from the car, and we could see there was nothing there. then, we heard something big walking towards us and it was very close. again, we could see exactly where it was coming from and there was nothing there. we screamed like little girls and drove out of there as fast as we could. while driving down the road, probably a mile or two away, we could feel the temperature inside the car change instantly. from warm air to cold as ice. and then, both of us could feel something touching us on the back of our necks. we both had scratches appear begin to forum and could feel cold air where it felt like something was touching us. my buddy just about started crying because of how scary this was.

anyway, we still talk about it from time to time. i'm sure there are skeptical people, but it definitely made me realize there are spiritual forces out there that are not friendly.

I've never seen a ghost.....but I had a beer with the Easter Bunny once.... =)

Spiritual encounters are life changing events, man. I don't doubt any of what you said, because the same thing happened to me, pretty much. Cool story. You should see if the house is still up. :hi:

There are demon spirits throughout the earth. I think these would be considered ghost.

Hebrews 9:27 declares, “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” That is what happens to a person’s soul-spirit after death—judgment. The result of this judgment is heaven for the believer (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23) and hell for the unbeliever (Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:22-24). There is no in-between. There is no possibility of remaining on earth in spirit form as a “ghost.” If there are such things as ghosts, according to the Bible, they absolutely cannot be the disembodied spirits of deceased human beings.
