Getting to 20?

Looking at the schedule ahead, I'm thinking we get only 4 to 7 more wins. If we get 7 more wins, we finish the regular season with 19 wins. Does that get us in the dance? Assuming our RPI is 35 to 40.

I would think that we need 20 wins in order to get in the NCAA. So, we better win all the games possible.

Tx AM is no pushover. If they win tonight they would be ridding a three game winning streak into Knoxville. Also, they had our number last year, sweeping CCM's team.

Everyone is talking 1-1 in the SEC tourney. I think we win more than one game. We can beat everyone in the league and I'm starting to think Kentucky is a possibility too. This zone is really good. Would be elite if we could start rebounding better out of it.

Tennessee will get 9 wins

Texas A&M
Auburn
Miss State
Vanderbilt
LSU
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
Florida
South Carolina

If the Vols get those win as you suggest, they will be dancing in the NCAAT, and with a higher seed than last year too.

That would be a remarkable season for them and their coach!

GBO!

We would be 19-5 and probably ranked in the top 15 if it got to that point. Gameday might even show up.

This would be awesome but unlikely. Beating Arkansas at their place will be difficult. I can see us going 5-2 if we keeping playing the way we are. Wins against Vandy, Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn, and Miss St. LSU at home is nice. If we beat Arky at their place then 19-5 by the kentucky game sounds feasible to me. Hope CDT can do it and I can't believe we are even discussing this.

But we have CDT and we shall ride. Go Vols. (Insert the picture with the assistant pulling donnie to the bench during the Arky game.)

I worry about our guys legs the 2nd half of the season..with so few scholy players I would guess that our starters are near the top of the league in minutes played

I know they're limiting josh in practice to keep him fresh. As the season goes on most college coaches shorten practice to help keep guys fresh too. When I played, the start of our season we would have 2.5-3 hour practices and once we got close to conference tourney time we were practicing for an hour to an hour and a half max. Granted that was at a lower level than High major D1. I can't imagine it being too different than my experience though.

When I was 18 and no where near the shape these guys are in. We played pickup games 3 or 4 times a week for 3 to 4 hours a night. Some really good games took place at Cumberland University. And our legs handled it. These guys are in great shape. Rotate quite a bit. And really don't play at a fast pace like we were supposed to be seeing. They good. Don't worry.

That's a good point. TN plays intense defense, but they aren't constantly sprinting up and down the court.

So you're saying out of 13 games the Vols may only win four?

I would say based I what we have seen out of them I would put it somewhere between 6 and 10 more wins.

Eight wins are definitely doable. This league is a mystery and besides Kaintuck I don't see anyone we can't beat on any given day. Who knows, we may be the one to upset the Cats. Also, who thought we'd even be talking about making the NCAA tourney at this time. :loco:

GO VOLS!

The fatigue shows up when teams press us hard late in the game.
Main reason we lost big leads against Arky and SC.
You can see it. they stop being aggressive on offense. Turn it over trying to dribble the clock away and end up not getting a shot off or puttin up a prayer.
Also, they don't rebound as well and start missing the FTs.
Teams do overcome it and we could, but tired legs can also lead to injury. That's my main fear about the fatigue factor.
Still think we can win 7 or 8 more. GBO

We may be getting a tad overconfident
Will Perdue has been predicting on SEC NOW every hour this morning that with the remaining schedules Kentucky, Arkansas, and LSU will be the only 3 teams from the SEC who get into the NCAA tournament unless one of the other contenders makes a strong SEC tournament run or beats Kentucky.
