I consider it the Head Coach's job to get the players ready to play, Butch clearly failed to get the players ready, but most of the credit must go to the players, yes the players!

Players Play, Coaches Coach......the players did not play today.... so it's on them.....save very very few

It's not them believing in the coach.. it's them believing in each other...Locker room needs a leader to step up and motivate the team. Jones can't do it all...

The leader is out for the season with a wrist injury. This would not have happened if JJ was there. They're on the verge on imploding.

You know what.....at some point these players need to have a little pride and play the damned game like it's supposed to be played. I'm not a Butch fan or apologist, but any fan with half a brain knows coaches didn't work to have this team play the way they did today. All this rah rah crap the staff is supposed to throw at players to get them "ready to play" and "fired up" lasts all of a couple of minutes. You either have it in you to go out and beat your man every play or you don't. I'm convinced the comments about this team being soft are spot on. If our players had that warrior mentality, we wouldn't have witnessed the garbage we saw today. At some point, the players need to be held responsible.

We have quite a few players on the field that have not been hardened by overcoming adversity. They will and then all will be well. This lack luster game is what the pundits expected. But we won while growing.

That's why he makes the big $$$$$$$$$$$!

Any organization will ultimately take on the personality of the leadership. It doesn't matter if it's a company, a church, a civic group or a football team. They become what leadership is.

For all of his positive attributes, CBJ is not a fearless and confident leader. For five years, we've seen the team REPEATEDLY come out flat, play without confidence, play tentatively and underachieve. It happens to every team now and again, but it is almost the norm for Tennessee.

You have to ask yourself why and be honest with your answer. The answer is because this is who Jones is and it is who he will continue to be. It's also who the team will be until he's gone.

I agree, but when I played ball, we, the players, never blamed the coaches for a loss, never, we knew it was on us!

Yep..... eventually the players have to assume some responsibility and just go out and play freaking football. They just pu$$yfooted around today. They should be embarrassed by that performance.... the offense especially

The team always is a reflection of their coach… Jones is not confident tight and always Looking for a gimmick each week that somehow he believes will rally the team either in what to wear what I had to wear white jerseys what cliché whatever complete disaster

I can see team 121 becoming harder as the season goes on, because after they are taken to the woodshed countless times, they will get hardened and or break:redface:
