You're welcome to your opinion of course but, as I said, it gets me every time. I think it's a good idea to play the speech once a year at the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament to keep the cause in front of everybody and keep everybody fired up in their lives.I love everything espn has done for cancer awareness and I believe that the coaches vs cancer tournament is great, but I have almost become numb to it because espn plays the speech at just about every turn.
The speech is beautiful and Jimmy V deserves a huge amount of respect, but I feel like I have seen it so many times that it just doesn't resonate as much as it used to.

I remember watching it live with my ex. Both of us touched, she just lost her granny & my grampa to cancer, tore us up. Still emotional watching Jimmy V today.
And Vols85, sucks to be you. Heartless jaded puke. Sorry, I remember when I was 17 too and it was all about instant gratification.
I'm not even sure where to start with this response...Heartless? Jaded? You don't even know me, and you don't know my life. You don't think I've had family or friends affected by cancer? My uncle died of brain cancer, my best friend's mother fought breast cancer for 8 years, only to succomb. I had to sit there and watch my listless and hopeless friend at his mother's funeral, and he has never been the same. For you to say those things are beyond classless.
I, too, have seen the wretch of cancer. It is a disgusting sickness, and I wish it upon no one.
I don't know what you thought you were reading in my post, but you got it wrong buddy.
Sorry for your losses too. But a dying mans plight deserves more than your... "overplayed" comment. Goodnight junior.
