Getting Drunk at Football Games

Against it.

The whole principle of drinking is to get that high that alcohol gives you. If you need that to get you pumped for an SEC football game, good riddance, I say.

High my butt.....lately at Neyland it has been about killing the pain.

against it-I was asked to leave with >10 minutes left during 80 Bama game....made myself & Gus Manning a promise that it would NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

As usual, your opinion is short sided, not very well thought out (though that's probably the best you could do), and simply wrong. While there is a noteworthy % of people that would fall into that category, not all do. Try looking past your own preferences and opinions now and then, you might learn a thing or two.

Ah... I missed a good thread while on vacation. For all alcohol consumption, here are my 2 cents: the "drinking section" of the stadium, although impossible, would be perfect.

The 2 sides of this argument are that there are people that don't want "drunken idiots" ruining the gameday experience for them and their children, and there are people who like to get crazy and have a drunken good time.

I think both certainly have their place, and I will most likely support both during some time in my life (although currently I always drink some gameday Jack). My solution would be that young alumni/students/other crazy folks occupy certain areas of the stadium, while families/elderly/straight-laced folks occupy the others. Again, obviously this would never happen, but it would make things much easier.

if they sold beer, i fear that it would ruin the tradition of the student section reeking of evan green label every gameday. i say don't sell beer in the stadium bc i'm perfectly content to sneak in my whiskey and buy some cokes.

If they start serving beer at Neyland, hopefully they serve the real thing, and not this watered down stuff for $7 they sell at pro football games.

I never really understood the desire to getting drunk or high during a Tennessee game. I have a friend who smokes pot during the game as well as drinks and sometimes gets so drunk/high he is slurring by the end. How can you focus on the game when you are that messed up? Just don't get it.
