Get this family out of Tennessee now

Yes. Let’s start by running the head of our state, out of the state. That will show them all that Tennessee fans are idiots.

You see that's the problem....the same people running the state should not be running the football program. I'm all for boosters, but boosters with immediate family holding high political office need to be kept in check...no matter how much money they give, and especially if they are THE number one boosters. Ridiculous.

In a healthy situation a group of candidates should be vetted by the AD, approved by a board of lesser boosters and administration and then the Haslams may give their input of a candidate or group of candidates already vetted and approved. But handpicking their own guy from the start and shoving it down the university's throat, then expecting the fans and everyone to just take it is completely asinine. God help us

Or year? Or years? Who cares? They don’t aren’t the only donors who signed off on this per reports. Even Peyton and Phil did. That’s the point.

Phil didn’t. Not a defender, but that needs to be out there. Fulmer was not one who signed off on Schiano.

It may be the popular thing to do right now to rip the Haslams, but I'm not taking part in that. They are 100% VFLs and are good people. I'm thankful for their involvement in our university.

This whole debacle is 100% on John Currie. 100%. Period.

You could not be more wrong. It's not about whether the Haslams are good people. The FBI will determine that. The fact is they have the main say in the hire and fire of coaches in the athletic department. The story is when the Haslams wanted to hire Dooley it was David Blackburn who stood up and said you don't want to do that he is a bad person. Now Blackburn is gone and no UT is hiring the fourth coach since Fulmer. Good people does not mean good at sports or sports management Jim Haslam has shown both here and at Cleveland that he has no clue. Currie is just their puppet. That is why he was hired.

BS haslam snuck davenport to kansas to hire currie right out from under phil. Even hyams reported phil as next ad before currie magically appeared. Haslam family is booster, BoT, and Govenor. You cant overcome that kind of leverage without a serious coup.

You're a deaf, dumb, and blind moron. Haslam told Currie whom to hire. Currie is a puppet, plain and simple. We need to exorcise the Haslime from UT for good.

Haslam is right though. People believe everything on ghe net and condemned an innocent man. Hope one of my students never falsely accuse me of something. People believe what they want to believe. Sad.

... still glad we didn’t hire Schiano because he sucks at football.

You believe this:

Haslam said his brother, Jimmy Haslam, was not involved in the Schiano search.

The Haslams may have VFL in the past but in recent history they threw all that away to win a junk swinging contest against other boosters. They refused to hire the best person simply because the credit would’ve went to another booster so they went out and recently made 2 hires that weren’t qualified for their positions simply because they would be puppets for them ensuring they never had to worry about another booster getting credit for anything in athletics. Davenport and Currie Both need to go simply because they clearly aren’t qualified and it would also send the message the haslams aren’t the end all be all of utk athletics anymore.

To be fair, more than "that many people" thought either Hillary or Trump is the right person for the job. You can choose a side. My point being is that numbers do not signify the level of rightness.

It is best to think for yourself and not be swayed by the numbers that may or may not think the same as you.

Just an observation.

Just an observation...0.504 record of schiano was the only number I needed to see. Not stellar by any means.

I seriously don't care about the Penn St. allegations at all. I do, however, care about the career resume of any potential hire for the head coaching position at UT. Greg Schiano's abilities as a HC, at the college or pro level, are average at best. The fact that he knew about Sandusky is only useful to me for the purposes of gathering large mobs of protestors against his potential hire. The Haslam's were 100% in charge of deciding on Schiano, and that tells me all I need to know about the past 3 hires, and why things continute to happen the way they do at this University. Haslam is terrible and things won't get better until him and his family are not involved in the Head Coaching searches.

I get it, I really do but to your point all election cycle a lot of undecided voters said Hillary wasn't the right choice but the dnc didn't listen and we got trump out of spite.

The fact that everyone Currie talked to told him this was not going to go over well and ignored all the signs, or just flat out thought fans would get in line with this hire.

He was wrong and those people who told him so were right. Now there might be times where you should ignore everyone and go with your gut, but this was not one of those times.

Also to the rumor that an Assoc AD leaked the story to try and torpedo the hire tells me that person would rather risk his or her job than to deal with the fallout of a GS hire

Let that sink in, someone put their job on the line to stop this, if that's not a sign then idk what is

I am at the point take the Gruden's with them tired of his ass bringing us down.

The Gruden stuff is all a load of bs, always has been and always will be. Yesterday wasn't a out Gruden, it was about taking back this university. Taking it out of a family who only uses it as a hobby to tinker with and shove their decisions down our throats. It's about stopping an incompetent administration from making anymore decisions and demanding we accept them.
