It's already started. We, the fan base, are the bad guys for wanting change in the coaching staff. We will be publicly criticized for our mistreatment of "The Dean of the SEC." But....I can take it if it's best for the team.

Where's this coming from?

I know I was watching CSS and they were saying how CPF deserves to resign and shouldn't have to deal with the criticism he has received from the fans and media. This was after the UGA game though.

That's crap. CSS must be anti-Vol and want Fulmer to stay.

Seriously though, I think most Vol fans want to see the transition to a new staff be a graceful one. Most appreciate Fulmer's achievements as coach and what he's done for a lot of young men (with regards to other things tha just football - like education, personal growth, etc.) over the years. He's done things for the University as well as the community. But most fans want him to man-up and do what he knows he should at the end of the year.

If people don't voice their opinions, then one would assume that the fans are okay with the situation facing UT football right now.

the media would be insane to view us as the bad guy when we have lost by a combined 100-37 to our two biggest rivals.

Fulmer will have to do one of his best coaching jobs ever to beat SC, Ark and KY this year. 7-5 regular season coupled with a bowl loss would force him to resign. I think 9-4 with a bowl win would get him another year. That will be hard to pull off though.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought Jim Ross had talked Vince McMahon into having open auditions for another impostor Razor Ramon.

Who cares what the media says, they have opinions just like the rest of us, i know i was in it for 18 years, and my opinion isn't worth a dime and im wrong most of the time, i also think fulmer should go but give him the option of stepping down, he has done a lot for UT, thats my opinion and i will hang up and listen for your comments

We got blasted for canning Majors, too. All that I can say to people who would blast us for ditching Fulmer is that they aren't paying close enough attention.

Actually, I do not care what anybody things. I want TN football to return to a top ten team. We not only get beat, we get demolished by a decent team. It ain't even close folks! It's time for a change.:clapping::clapping::clapping:

Pat Ryan said on the Halls Salvage Sports source that even if UT when 6 and 6 he would retain fulmer (if it was his decision). I understand loyalty and friendship but come on..... I really never want to hear the phrase "body of work" ever again. UT's body of work this year.... well that beat a very average GA team and have gotten pole-axed by UF Cal and Bama........

Oh and "multiple is not a noun". A team is not "multiple".... a team may have "multiple" sets, coverages, etc.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The UT football program is in great peril.....

Fulmer is probably gone unless the Vols win their remaining regular season games, backdoor its way into the SECCG, somehow win the SECCG, and also win a bowl game. With the next 4 games being played in Neyland, and the Vols problems being on the road this season, I can see them go on a 4-game win streak. However, Kentucky will rip the Vols' defense to shreds in Commonwealth Stadium.

Oh and "multiple is not a noun". A team is not "multiple"....

It's an adjective. A team can be "multiple" just like the sky can be blue.

. . . but I don't think that was really your overall point was it?

Actually kind of similar....wasn't that during the time Raw as getting its ass kicked by Nitro? How many heads rolled until Vince was back on top? Vince for AD!

....at this point Eric Bischoff would do quite nicely. At least we would get some storylines!

I don't fault anyone for expressing an opinion that a coaching change is necessary. What I won't support are the calls for anti-Fulmer chants at games, during the Vol Walk, etc., for boycotts of games, and those who say they hope we lose every game so as to force a coaching change. I also believe one can call for a change without resorting to name-calling, fat jokes etc.

It's certainly your right to engage in any of the above, but it's my right to regard you as a "bad guy" if you do so.
