Get off of Jones' case, please

He's a third down receiver that's it. Nothing more nothing less. Bring him in then not on the other downs.

Right now consistency > big plays. jones is consistent. next year we will definitely see both hunter and da'rick rodgers as our WR's

You might check how our offense has been doing lately. Big plays are how we score. We can't consistently do anything.

I'd like to see Hunter starting and Rogers getting more touches. Jones is good for just moving the chains. He's got to be one of the slowest WRs to don the orange.

The Brakerboy doesn't need to start threads.

I'd like to see Hobart starting more threads and Kush getting more posts. Breakerboy is good for just looking ignorant. He's got to be one of the slowest people on VolNation.

You'll come to notice as you post here more often that this is quite common among most Vols fans.

We have to have one of the worst fan bases, at least ones who post on the internet.

I think Breaker may actually have a concussion.......now way rogers is better than Jones.....he's shown already this year to have hands like Roberto Duran

Jones and recruits at his talent level are the reason we're in the hole we're in now. I swear you guys need to take off the orange tinted shades. Just "Solid" guys are not going to cut it anymore. When we were elite we had elite players. I like the type of athletes Dooley is trying to bring in. Their star ratings mean nothing he's bringing in talent.

I'll take off the glasses when you get off the dope....Jones is a good player....who knows how good he actually is because he's not had a top notch QB throwing to him and he's been on some of the absolute worst offensive teams UT has ever had. You saw Hunter make three easy catches and then fumble after one of them....this doesn't make him a 1st rounder or Jones a bad player

It's not recruits at Jones level that's causing the problem....it's the recruits that aren't SEC caliber...the ones that never see the field. See the Fulmer's last wo classes thread

Yeah because it's terrible to move the chains on first or second down. Bring him in in the situations where Simms seems to be the most rushed this year. That's a solid gameplan.

Gerald Jones
I must say that i am fed up with people on here getting on Jones about dropped balls and calling out the o-line. Look, he's a senior. He has weathered three, count 'em, head coaches. He's weathered four (?) offensive systems. He's played a different deck of cards every year he's been here, played hurt, rushed himself back to playing because the team needs him and on this site, our posters dog him for reasons i can't see.

Gerald Jones
Is a volunteer for life. He came in as a highly recruited WR from OK. Mainly because he wanted to play for Tennessee. And he still does. He wavered between Florida (I think?) and TN. And came here. That there is somebody we should all rally around. And when all the chips started to fall and his teammates bailed, what did he do? He stuck it out. Always spoke highly of the coaching staff that he chose and the subsequent coaching staffs that he was dealt. Never complained about what he had to do as a player or about helping the others along only to drop our or get kicked off (Nukeese, etc.). He is a great leader. And a great person.

I've always liked Gerald Jones. I like how he made some great plays against alabama last year, even though they didn't show up on ESPN highlight films. If he doesn't make those plays last year, the game is not near as winnable as it turned out. Time and again he shows that he can come back and wear the orange proudly.

So for all you negaposters, negavols and negajonses (sorry), you need to take a step back and look at what he's done for the university.

I can tell you for sure that he will always represent TN well and be an ambassador for the program and will help sell TN to other high profile recruits in the midwest. I mean, someday soon, there won't be anything more than OK and TX out there to play for and the rest will go shopping.

That's all i got.

Sorry, but hes an average SEC WR at best IMO. I do think he is a good teammate and a fine role model for our younger receivers though.

I stopped reading after the first paragraph, only because it was repeated. See your point, but, this had a strong similarity to the "leave Brittany alone" youtube clip. Link anyone?

When someone is vocal to the media, they open up the possibility of getting run through the dirt themselves.

Especially when they call out teammates. Then those dropped balls and alligator arms get noticed more.

What about it? I wish they'd leave Brittany alone too!

I'm sorry. I'm going back into my cage now....:blush2:

I think we should leave Britney, Gerald Jones and Virginia alone. I agree. But, to not read after the first paragraph is an epic fail, IMO. Remember, a little knowlege is a dangerous thing. Shi_ i can't spell knowlege. Vader!
