Slavery was dying and the abolitionist prolonged it. They forced the issue and caused the South to bow up. The abolitionist actually did the plantation owners a favor. Sharecropping, which is what slavery became, was much better and profitable than slavery for the land owners.
The war was much more about the North's economics that it was slavery. They depended on the cheap agricultural products of the South to fuel their industry. They would've gone belly up if they had to compete with the Europeans in trade.

it removes one source of corruption by making the remaining source of corruption even more powerful. As long as the politicians can bribe the population with more free stuff the corruption remains. We need both to act as a checks and balances, and it works in both directions.

seems like we would all be much better off by directly fixing those issues instead of backdooring them.

You’ve just created a more unstable Iranian regime that will resort to more violence to remain in power. And as for the nuclear weapon that may or may not existed? Well we obliterated it months ago, then we didn’t obliterate it, then we did, then we didn’t. You’ve pushed Iran to closer ties with China. You think they’re going to stop trading with Iran? If you believe that load of BS coming from the joke of an administration, I’ve got a farm to sell y….oh wait, it’s just got foreclosed on because this unnecessary war has driven up fuel prices we haven’t seen in decades and they’re still rising. Congratulations.

Gerrymandering prevents voters from electing thier representatives. It permits representatives selecting thier voters. Tennessee districts look like a 3rd grader drawing.

China is an industrial, oil poor nation that totally depends on exporting their goods, mostly to the U.S. We are in control of both of those now, we are their daddy. A lot has changed in the past year.

If China so supportive of Iran, why aren't they helping them and threatening the U.S. and Israel?
Highest fuel prices in decades? I didn't know that 4 years was now a decade. This in 2022 the average price of gas was much higher than now.

What the hell are you talking about? China has been kicked out of Panama, Venezuela, and Iran. They have lost they cheap oil sources. China is now buying oil from us. We now control all the shipping choke points. Their economy is in shambles.
