This war has not been won. The world is worse off than it was before the war started. That's fact, undeniable.

It remains to be seen whether that change is good or not. History has not been very kind to us on the back end of wars we've claimed victory in.

I don't see China doing anything other than what they have been the past 40 years. Making strategic long term deals and biding their time.

Right on. I lived closer to Laurel Bloomery most of the time I was there, but did move to Neva for a little while as well. Still the prettiest place I’ve ever lived. Could tell nostalgic stories for days about that place. I still come down when I can and stay in our family cabin (built in 1775 in Piney Flats, my family moved it log by log to it’s current spot on Iron Mountain in Laurel Bloomery in 1976) and spend time on Watauga Lake.

Hey I'm not staking my life on this but I don't think it's fair that 10 citizens in South Dakota have the same influence as 1000 citizens in California.

Why would you expect liberal Democrats in NoVa to vote for a very conservative Republican? It was the low turnout in the heavily Republican parts of the Commonwealth that cost her the election.

a government that is largely able to choose the way they represent themselves.

There was always supposed to be give and take, we have the house to represent the people, and the senate to represent the state.

the idea was to keep either group, people or the government, from gaining too much power over the other.

If you want to really get it, look at the contrasts of Obomber's visit to China and the current President's. The Chinese totally shite all over Obomber and treated him like a clown. This time they roll out the red carpet and kiss Trump's azz. They know where the bear sits and who is their daddy.
Eastern cultures respect only power and strength. If you're not respected and/or feared you are nothing.

They kiss his ass because they know that's how you get to him. It's not respect it's just about knowing your enemy. They're just making the dumbest guy in the room feel like he's the top dog and it's working

Whatever. Tell me how it is this dumbazz is winning on everything? How is that he solving all these so called unsolvable problems if he is a moron? Just look at the border. How long were we told that nothing could be done? Same with Iran, China, trade, industry, etc.
China is bowing and scraping, what exactly have they gotten? Their azz handed to them, that is what. They are probably lying through their teeth but they are getting pushed around. We control their oil, their trade, their lifeblood. We are their daddy.

I am fully aware,despite sugars and Hoggs believe, of what the intentions of creating a senate. I disagree. I am allowed to do that.

No one even implied that you aren't allowed to disagree. The point was you have your facts/assumptions wrong.

it was more clear what the distinction was before the 16 or 17th amendment. can't remember off the top of my head which made senators an election vs appointment, but it took a change to the constitution for that to come into effect, so there very clearly was a difference.

You can absolutely disagree and enough did disagree to get the abomination called the 17th amendment passed in 1912. We've paid dearly for that stupidity since.
