Gerrymandering in Virginia

The only reasonable solution is to create a bias free algorithm that appropriates the number of state reps by population area rates mixed with proper city/rural representation.

Anything else is simply political

In TN, Memphis + inner suburbs would be 1. Davidson would be another. The other 7 can be divved up via contiguous counties.

No snake districts.

No arguments there....The ones that need to be eliminated are the crazy snake ones in LA, IL, etc.

Why dont Hispanics have the ability to choose representatives of their own currently? Race should play no part in any of this

I don't have the solution but happy to discuss
This whole who can out-gerrymander who thing that’s going on, it’s just a symptom of the disease in our politics. Open corruption (because gerrymandering, choosing your electorate, is inherently corrupt) is somehow where we’ve arrived in 2026. We should use something arbitrary to make districts, lines of latitude and longitude for all I care, and let the electorate choose the candidates.

Anyway, the disease… the Trump family openly enriching themselves in a nepotistic free-for-all, the open demonizing of any target group, the puppet DOJ, the puppet USSC, the toothless (worthless) legislative branch. We need radical reform in the worst way. In which direction (whether that’s to the center or to the left) I can’t say for sure.

What I do know is if we don’t stop bickering and electing idiots with personality disorders we’re gonna lose our spot in the world. We’ve got a crap ton of domestic problems that need desperate attention. We are rife for a gigantic populist movement post-Trump. We need to choose wisely.

We agree. But you started with comparing this to preventing blacks from having a say. But you ignore the Hispanics. So go with your reply to me and drop the Jim Crow nonsense

We agree that race should play no part in this. I’m not sure what your gripe is. Who cares what you call it, it’s disenfranchisement of huge portions of the population.

So if the trend continues and Whites become the minority like it’s trending will gerrymandering be ok. Will states be able to draw maps for the future minority white race.

yea..the ones who determine constitutuonality rule unconstitutionally.

make it make sense.
Sure man! They are not following the constitutionality rule of the U.S. and following how does it benefit the Republicans. Now I know that has to make sense for you...

surprising huh..
cost Red states up to 7 seats
That is just a coincidence. Don't be a brainwashed useful idiot. The problem is that you're using common sense and believing facts that you see. To be truly enlightened you have to ignore those things.

Dagum if that don't sound like every President in the past thirty years. Trump lost money in his first term and has made about 160% of his previous wealth in his second
  • Bill Clinton: ~$1.3M before → $120M+ shortly after (combined with Hillary now ~$240M+). Massive post-office earnings from speeches, books, and consulting. Highest percentage growth in modern era. Up 18000%
  • Barack Obama: ~$1.3M before → ~$70M after (with Michelle). Book deals, Netflix, speeches. Second-highest modern post-presidency surge. Up 5300%
  • George W. Bush: ~$20M before → ~$40M after. More modest gains via books, speeches, and investments. Up 100%
  • George H.W. Bush: ~$4M → ~$23M post-office. Investments and board roles. Up 475%
  • Jimmy Carter: Modest wealth (~$2M before, struggled after initially). Built to ~$10M via books; notably avoided heavy monetization and focused on humanitarian work. Put family peanut farm in trust. UP 334%

Districts should have to include atleast 50 percent of its inhabitants paying taxes. Any district that is heavily welfare leaning is going to vote for free programs and tax increases every time. I don’t give a damn about race or gender but I do believe you need to draw maps that have atleast 50 percent skin in the game.

Everybody pays sales taxes or federal taxes on fuel...

Do we get to count farm subsidies and the like?

Thanks for finally owning up to being a radical. As far as the direction needed; I note that you neglected the one direction we do need to go; further to the right.
Once we repeal the 16th and 17th Amendments, pass national reciprocal carry, and eliminate the Education department, then maybe we can finally slow down a bit. Oh, and get rid of the monumentally authoritarian car kill switch rule going into effect next year.
