Gerald Jones may have broken hand (confirmed)

we can't block for a punt return anway so I just vote no one goes deep. That sucks about Jones. I didn't see where Moore turned his ankle. What play was that on.

any guess as to who will return punts? Oku needs to grow a little more at this position, imo... Dooley let him have it after one of the punts yesterday when he just hovered over the dead ball

Dooley said Oku is the returner behind GJ but they will look at all options.

Its fake Jones hurt his right hand.....the x-ray is a left hand.

He is obviously full of it about this being Jones' legit X-Ray, but i am curious how you identified this as a left hand??

:banghead2:we're in a heap of trouble with both starting recievers out for oregon. that leaves zach rodgers and the 3 freshmen to play. i don't see any way of winning this game with zach rodgers and 3 freshmen playing. you have to have veteran leadership and that leaves us with really no leadership. we can't just run the ball against oregon or they will put 8 in the box. i was highly optomistic that this game could be a win, but now i don't see any way of winning this game. :ermm:

The duo of Rogers and hunter might need to get ready. With depth at wr? Does meline stay at safety?

Good opportunity for one of the freshmen WR's to step up.

We have won with true freshmen in the past, E. Ainge for example. In the past a lot of WR's run the wrong pattern when they first start, which really kills an offense. It's a lot of work for the coaching staff to get the true freshmen ready to play but it can be done.

I agree. Were going to have to be very creative just to stay in the game. I think we need to see some more Oku in the game at slot. Or even bring him in w/ poole and do some motioning to get favorable matchups. This week will be interesting.

When was Moore injured? I was at game and don't recall his going out hurt.

D Moore and Shaw will be good to go this week against the Ducks.
Newsflash to the half empty crowd------injuries are going to happen every week. No teams goes through a game without a turned ankle or stinger or deep bruise or something alot worse. Its a full contact sport. Quit bemoaning what we cant change.
Band of Brothers mentality is what gets the job done. Not belly-aching and woe is me......

To quote the movie Invictus, when Freeman asks Damon if he's healthy, he replies, "sir, you're rarely 100% in this sport." Or something to that affect.

It's gonna hurt us, no need in kidding ourselves. The freshmen may be future phenoms, but it takes a special WR to come in and contribute as a true freshman. We'll see.

The thumb is on the right of his fingers???

exactly. For the reasons you said ...thats why coaches and talking heads are always moaning about oue depth issue. The normal rigors of Football can reduce a great team with no depth to being a terrible team ( see Ol' Miss last season )

Hoping the coaches ...who have looked smart this far ...have some work arounds and contingency plans in mind .
