Here's my problem with your post, you see things only from your POV. Take a step back and look at it from a different perspective. Does racism still exist? Absolutely. There are definately people out there who treat others differently based on the color of their skin. What you fail to address is that there are people from ALL races that judge others on the color of their skin.
Just as there are caucasians that hate anyone of another color, there are also black people who hate anyone of another color. IF, we're going to address the race issue(which I know isn't really appropriate here, but I had to speak my opinion), then let's do it fairly. The acts of some do not reflect the acts of all. I am caucasian(since that's the term you seem to prefer), and my cousin was shot and killed by a black youth for a measly fifty bucks. Does that mean I should blame anyone that's black? No, I blame the kid who did it. I don't care what color his skin was, it was HIS act.
Racism does still exist, but not all caucasians are racist. I've met black people who hated me for being caucasian, but not for one second do I believe all black people are racist towards caucasians. Ignore the ignorant and judge people on their actions, not on the color of their skin. Whenever the arguement is made "you don't know what it's like", I always think, I don't know what it's like to be you, but then again, you don't know what it's like to be me either.
I'm not trying to bash, but you seem to point the finger at all caucasians. Maybe that isn't your intent, but it is how it came across to me. I understand your passion about the "race card" because there are certainly times racism is a factor, but too many use the race card when race is not the issue. How does race really reflect the GJ story? I don't see where it does. I see nothing where he was discriminated against for the color of his skin. His actions are HIS actions. If he did what he is accused of, then, to me, it doesn't matter what color his skin is. He should NEVER have talked to GW on behalf of TT, no matter their personal friendship. He screwed up. I don't care what was said or not said, the conversation should not have happenned. It should have been like this, "Hello. Who is this? You're being recruited by UT and AU? I'm sorry, I don't really think it's appropriate that we have this conversation, but I hope you make the choice that is best for you. Good luck." End of story. But that's just my two cents. :hi:
