Looks like we will have a package like Arky had last year after all, and with a better passer and more elusive runner. Just saw the pic on VQ and thought I would let everyone know.

There is a pic up on the front page of Volquest with Taylor at QB.

I think Taylor will get the first shot at the package spot don't get me wrong, but the work they are doing with Jones and his elusiveness is too much to give way to someone who is basically a straight forward runner like Talyor.

I agree. I just hope they don't give up on the formation if it doesn't work with Taylor. It won't be near as potent with Lucas as it will be with Jones or Berry.

Honestly, I would rather see a Berry QB and Jones RB package more than anything at this point in the discussion.

To prevent the defense from playing 8 or 9 guys in the box

They put 8-9 in the box with McFadden and Jones in Arky's package. It doesn't matter how many people you put in the box because with the right motion in the play you can do what you want with the Defense once you get behind them about 10 yards.

A better passer and more elusive runner then Arkansas? What are you drinking tonight?

I'll buy the better passer part, but elusive runner? Have you seen McFadden??? He's been THE MAN against top notch competition, Gerald, with all due respect, still has no clue what college football is all about, and wont til he steps on the stage. Slow down a little. He's a great talent, but that's a little bit of a stretch.

I just hope it doesnt end up like the Eric Locke package. HA HA.

With that threat back there though, it seems very interesting.

We will probably never see it in a game. It is probably just to prepare the D to go against Tebow and the spread offense. Do we really think Phil is going to change the offense that much after seeing the same thing for 15+ years?

i think you're wrong. I think with the coaches seeing how Tebow and McFadden were used last year and how well it worked for them, we have just as good athletes that we can do it too

Wow, I would have thought Eric Locke's name would have been spurned from here. hahaha

I don't see much coming from this at all. Unless it's something you plan on doing with any sort of consistency, or if you're Tim Tebow(haha), it's difficult to be successful. Fulmer doesn't have a good track record of "packages" for players. Things tend to be a bit obvious and considering our o-line is made of butter until further notice, what are they going to do, break out the option? haha It would be nice to see Jones or Berry in there for a whole series, or maybe even a few series a game, but they need to do more than make it an obvious draw or rollout that the defense will see coming the week before the game. haha
