I agree that the shortlist is intact and as late as the start of the 4th quarter tonight, I wondered if Dools would even clear the field with his job intact.

But I do think it's only fair that Dooley get the credit/blame for what happens in the next four games--and the rest of the season.

Our players' talents are so much better than our coaches, it's almost sickening. That talent is not well-developed and the schemes totally suck. Add that to the reality that Tennessee football has a tradition and reputation that will sell, and I think that shortlist will smell opportunity.

I look forward to seeing who we get this off season. There's no way this team can save Dools' job, and it's not the players' faults.:hi:

Again, I agree completely.

6 wins might be enough to give Dooley his 4th year, or not. But there have been a few posts on here from those who are a lot closer to the team than I am that talk about the players not having any respect for Dooley. Truth or fiction? All I know is that the product we are seeing on the field does not reflect a team that believes in the staff, or the scheme.

There isn't a team on our schedule that can't beat us, if we come out flat. We have all these talented players, but the sum is less than the parts.

UGA will have a big day at our expense. We don't have the spark, the leadership or the coaching to motivate and lift our players up.

If 6 wins gets him another year there will be a mattress burning ceremony in front of Neyland

Do you remember what thread it was in?

No, but I can go back and sort through "find other posts by" and get it. Not tonight. Almost 1 a.m., and I have a 10 a.m. tee time on Jekyll with two other guys who like to play $25 front 9 / back 9 / overall. Plus greenies and birdies. Gonna need my A-game.

I'll be here tomorrow evening. If you can't find it, ding me and I'll go back and look it up.

The 2 RBs from NC are tearing it up but they are Fr.It will be their 1st real big game.McCullers will play a lot more and I would think running up the middle will be hard.If we would of came out played lights out tonight everybody would feel better about the game.Maybe the crappy play tonight will result in a better game next week.Hopefully Bray make the throws next week and the D steps up.GO VOLS.

I agree we have the talent to be on the field with anyone ...but the schemes are idiotic at best. I do think the D will come along. Going to a 3-4 takes time...but they will be burdened by too many snaps caused by the ill advised O scheme. Will be lucky to win 3 more unless something changes

+1 - if they make us one-dimensional like FL did we will get embarrassed.

We made OURSELVES one dimensional against Florida. We got behind by 7 and Cheney panicked by calling 13 straight pass plays. We were actually running the ball fairly well up until that point.

I think this will be within 2 TDs. Not because of Dooley or how our team plays, but because Richt overwhelmingly underachieves on the regular. UGA will keep us in the game.

Heck, we might actually win this. I wouldn't be surprised. UGA plays like they're bi-polar.

They may be freshman, but they look like and are playing like seniors

Gurley is a damn man out there.. not looking forward to playing him for the next 2-3 years

If we came out tonight and played lights out, everyone would still say that this team is untested, can't come from behind and folds under pressure.

I saw a team tonight who did come out flat, got tested, couldn't pull away, even got behind and who overcame all of that. I saw a team play for a full 60 minutes. I saw a team who didn't give up when their feelings got hurt.

Some will say that it is against Akron, so it doesn't count. Perhaps that makes it count more because having a "bad" team hang with you could certainly be more demoralizing than getting beat by a team who is better.

These guys came out like they were feeling a little sorry for themselves, or like they were trying to just get through until next week. The second half, this team showed out and showed off.

I am not predicting a win against UGA. I am just not willing to give up on them yet. Not when I see signs of life. I am glad none of you are my relatives, I would be in the hospital for a broken limb and your answer would be to "pull the plug and harvest his organs".

1. Yes. UT is not gonna physically out match UGA, Bama, Miss St., USCe, and Mizzou the way the did Akron tonight.

2. Finishing the game the way you should have played the first 3 quarters does not equal 60 mins of football. UT played better football for a longer period of time last week.

Watch UGA just shred VU for ove 560yds and made VU look like the "old" VU. They said it was their worst sided loss in 9yrs. On defense they kept VU at check all night on pass and run. Honestly...they looked better than Fla or at least last night.

Hold on just a cotton picken minute fellers. UGA has beaten 2 SEC teams that couldnt play dead in a western. There is no reason to be giving this game away. We are gonna go down there and bunch that bulldog in his dirty mouth and come away with the biggest victory in Coach Dooleys career! GO VOLS

I think uga's d is going to really expose Bray's lack of ability to manage the game and make his own decisions. All of uga's defensive starters are back from suspension this week. Rambo is a stud for them. I think the betting line will be 2 TD's in favor of uga. Let's hope the pkayers dont give up on the season if it gets ugly..
