What was really ridiculous is they had done it every week the year before (2021) and every game to that point in 2022. I don't know how we weren't more ready for it. The bigger problem was they D'ed up our receivers man to man. We had a few good opportunities with the deep ball but not what we were accustomed to.I’d bet that’s all their defense practiced all week. I wonder how many false starts that created.
I always remember Steve Spurrier when he was coaching at South Carolina being asked about opening the season against Georgia. He sad it was an advantage since they always had a half dozen or so of the starters out for disciplinary reasons…
With as many players as they lost to the draft, the same could be said about them. Their QB situation isn’t exactly ideal either.Looking over our schedule I really do hate that we have Georgia week 3. That only gives all of our new guys on defense, our almost completely new o-line and whichever new QB we choose 2 weeks to gel. At least the game is in Neyland but, man, this is one year I wish we did not have them right out of the gates. Fortunately we follow that game with UAB, Mississippi State and Arkansas (at home) so they will have some games to get themselves together. Also, early losses are better than later losses so maybe playing them early is not the end of the world.
Georgia is actually better than us. Florida was beating us with crap teams because they were in our head.

Lately UF has been good early in the year and they implode once some dissension sets in IMO its a culture thing. I just remember UK and others beating them back to back later in the season and saying how did we lose to them.Used to be florida early, now it's uga. What's the difference?
