Georgia week 3

I think Stockton will do OK but playing in the home state in Atlanta with 50% plus of the crowd on your side is different than playing on the road at Neyland.
I think they said on the broadcast it was 80% Georgia fans. That seems high, but it was in Atlanta.

I’d bet that’s all their defense practiced all week. I wonder how many false starts that created.
What was really ridiculous is they had done it every week the year before (2021) and every game to that point in 2022. I don't know how we weren't more ready for it. The bigger problem was they D'ed up our receivers man to man. We had a few good opportunities with the deep ball but not what we were accustomed to.

I always remember Steve Spurrier when he was coaching at South Carolina being asked about opening the season against Georgia. He sad it was an advantage since they always had a half dozen or so of the starters out for disciplinary reasons…

I echo the sentiments of most ITT. An early matchup is our best shot to win.

The key is the OL has to be more physical at point of contact. I believe they can be but they’ve gotta prove it. Ga has controlled the LOS with 3 & 4 DL in past years. That HAS to change.

Add to it Banks can’t be as outcoached as he was last year by Bobo. It was like Vol defense never saw a shift or man in motion.

Looking over our schedule I really do hate that we have Georgia week 3. That only gives all of our new guys on defense, our almost completely new o-line and whichever new QB we choose 2 weeks to gel. At least the game is in Neyland but, man, this is one year I wish we did not have them right out of the gates. Fortunately we follow that game with UAB, Mississippi State and Arkansas (at home) so they will have some games to get themselves together. Also, early losses are better than later losses so maybe playing them early is not the end of the world.
With as many players as they lost to the draft, the same could be said about them. Their QB situation isn’t exactly ideal either.

Georgia is actually better than us. Florida was beating us with crap teams because they were in our head.

You think we have a chance of beating them this year in the swamp since it is at the very end of the season? 2003 seems like oh so long ago. I swear if an earthquake swallowed Ben Hill Griffin tomorrow I would not shed a single tear.

Used to be florida early, now it's uga. What's the difference?
Lately UF has been good early in the year and they implode once some dissension sets in IMO its a culture thing. I just remember UK and others beating them back to back later in the season and saying how did we lose to them.
UGA is the opposite they have 4 & 5 stars 3 deep and later in the season Kirby has all those Stars aligned and his O & D set and their hard to beat.

It pains me to see uga thrive, but their situation is similar to us in the 90s. We caught uga and Bama on a down cycle and rode it. uga caught us and Florida on a down cycle and rode it.

It ls starting to be the end of that cycle, and uga will return to being a pure trash program, no traditions, nothing notable about them, and an athletic hall named after a skid mark.

Tune in to watch.
