Georgia Opens Favored by a touchdown

To be fair, Kirby hadn’t often run into teams with better talent thanks to his recruiting. Of the 7 times he did, 6 were against the GOAT and 1 was on the road against the only team with better talent. Kirby is in the top echelon of current coaches but I do get what you’re saying regarding his coaching outside of recruiting. He would certainly have at least 1 more win against Saban if not for some poor in-game decisions. I don’t think he’s elite on Saturdays but he’s elite the rest of the time and that makes his job easier on Saturdays. If given equal talent, I’d take Heupel though.
Thank you for this, I think you said it better than I was trying.

"poor in-game decisions"...remember that time he shuffled Justin Fields out on the field for a fake punt?

College football is a tri-fecta:

#1 - You have to RECRUIT
#2 - You have to DEVELOP THE TALENT IN YOUR LOCKER ROOM
#3 - You have to ADJUST IN REAL TIME to the in-game situations

Saban excelled in all three areas - ELITE.
Dooly - didn't recruit worth a darn.
Jones - couldn't develop his talent
Pruitt - could not adjust in real time (almost always beat after the half)

Urban Meyer, good at all three.

Steve Spurrier, one of if not THE BEST at in-game adjustments. You always knew he was going to come out an whip you in the second half.

Kirby...I personally think he is a baboon in-game strategist. If not for talent that is at a minimum 4-stars three deep, he would lose even more games. And with the changes we've seen with NIL, his days of out-jimmie-and-joe-ing the competition are numbered.

Heupel is a great schemer. Halzle - I'm not so sure. I don't know if Halzle's issue is his talent or on-field talent.

Oh and one more thing, #1 - RECRUIT is now be supplanted with: SHOP THE PORTAL.

I appreciate your passion, but calling my post "idiotic" is a bold move for someone swinging at the same goalpost. Let’s unpack your points and see how "idiotic" my take really is.
  1. Tone Check: Starting with "idiotic" isn’t exactly a winning strategy for constructive debate. If you want to be taken seriously, maybe ease up on the insults and bring some facts instead. Let’s see how my "idiotic" points hold up:
  2. Alabama’s Talent Edge in 2021: You claim Alabama had "as much or more talent" than Georgia in their National Championship clash. True, Alabama edged Georgia by one spot in the 2021 talent composite (No. 1 vs. No. 2). But let’s not gloss over the SEC Championship a few weeks earlier, where Alabama beat the brakes off Georgia 41-24 with that same "one-spot" edge. In the title game, Alabama was without star receivers Jameson Williams and John Metchie III (both top-30 nationally, combining for 281 yards in the SEC game). Injuries matter. Claiming talent alone wins games ignores context.
  3. Kirby vs. Saban: Kirby Smart’s 1-6 record against Nick Saban is telling. His lone win came in that 2021 title game, with Alabama hobbled. Each matchup saw Alabama with a slight talent edge (one spot in composite rankings). If Kirby is so "elite," why did he struggle to close that razor-thin gap?
  4. Mike Bobo’s performance: You call Bobo "very good." Really? His résumé begs to differ. Fired from Colorado State with a 50% win rate. Went 0-3 as interim at South Carolina (losing to unranked Missouri, Georgia, and Kentucky). Booted from Auburn after one year. Even with Georgia’s No. 2 talent composite last year, his offense limped to 51st nationally. Elite? Hardly.
  5. Bobo vs. Halzle: I didn’t bring up Halzle but since you did, let’s compare. Tennessee’s offense ranked 15th and 19th the last two years with talent composites of 17th and 16th. Bobo’s Georgia, mind you with no. 2 talent, ranked 51st. Halzle’s clearly outcoaching Bobo with less to work with.
  6. Georgia’s Recruiting Dominance: You say Georgia is top 5 in recruiting every year. It's worse than that. They’ve averaged No. 2 in talent composite for the past eight years. With that kind of firepower, an "elite" coach like Kirby should have more than two national titles to show for it - one from a hampered Alabama and one from a TCU team that ran out of house money. When was the last time Georgia pounded or, more telling to great coaching, out schemed a more talented team? It's never happened under Kirby.
  7. Squandering Talent: We agree that top-10 recruiting gives coaches a shot at a title with good coaching and some luck. So why, with no. 2 talent, did Kirby’s Georgia lose to No. 9 Notre Dame and No. 20 Ole Miss last year? For an "elite" coach, Kirby’s wasting an awful lot of potential.
So yes - until Kirby (a) beats a team more talented than his, (b) reduces the number of traffic violations and arrests of his current players, (c) gets his locker room under control - I'm not going to act like he is an elite coach. You can, if you want to.
Facts don't lie. Appreciate the time it took to our this post together.

This is ridiculously fast movement. I've never seen a line fall this fast this quickly. This only happens if very well respected money has come in BIG on Tennessee. And Vegas realized very quickly their original number was wrong.

My guess is this. Vegas did not adjust their power ratings for Georgia and Tennessee much after the first two games but respected betters did. So Vegas now is playing catchup. I think the number is gonna move again. Probably back up to 4.5 as some betters try to play the middle.

Either way this should be a good sign for our Vols. Cause line movement this dramatic doesn't usually happen unless the initial move was right and Tennessee was massively underrated.
They all know Georgia can't pass, and we'll stack the box with 7 and shut their run game down. Forcing them to attempt passes under our front seven with their ears laid back hunting. It might get ugly in Neyland......

He's elite against us. Having said that, any line under 10 for UGA is a bet I'd make.

Can't pass? With those WR including Branch along with their TEs vs our LB corp, I think they do what they usually do in this game. Frankly, I'm not sure we can stop their running game either.

Well, Sir. We'll have to wait and see. They have the right side of their OL hurt and don't know if they'll play. That's Joseph's side, so he may have a great game. Bringing in a new QB into our stadium will be a challenge for Kirby. Our defense has the ability to shut them down. Especially the run. I believe Banks will serve up some schemes to shake up their new QB.

Down to 3.5..The Sharps are pounding the Vols . Wouldn't surprise me if the public starts hitting GA Fri or Sat.
Sharps don’t bet until late. They might get in on the teaser line if it is crazy enough, but most big money doesn’t come until right before kick off. They wait until all the public facing variables are available, including game time decisions on injuries.

I don't think Ga. can beat us at all throwing down field. Stack the box to stop the run and cut off the short passes and we win
