Georgia looks bad

You guys were playing with your food today. Relax i’m sure Kirby will have them ready and focused next Saturday. He was prepping for Tennessee the last two weeks
Yeah, I’m sure he has been preparing for TN for awhile, but that doesn’t excuse today’s poor play. You’re right, Kirby will do his best to have them ready, but playing under 100,000 plus in Neyland is much different than hosting Austin Peay. Like I said, I expect that our defense will keep us in the game, but I’m worried about Bobo and the offense.

Still, it will likely be a good game.

They will look like Heisman winners next week. Should be a good game

I would'nt fool yourself into thinking Georgia is beatable. Kirby has CJH figured out since his first year and has dominated CJH. I don't see it changing. I don't like Georgia but facts are facts.
  • 2024: Georgia 31, Tennessee 17
  • 2023: Georgia 38, Tennessee 10
  • 2022: Georgia 27, Tennessee 13
  • 2021: Georgia 41, Tennessee 17
  • 2020: Georgia 44, Tennessee 21
figured out? not like there wasn't an extreme roster deficiency on one team and 90 percent bluechip ratio on the other, weird to call bad opinions facts

Funny thing is that I think Georgia could lose to Tennessee and still be fine as well. You get Alabama and Texas at home and Florida looks like crap now. Georgia still looks likely to make Atlanta.
Yeah, it’s honestly hard to know until you play a real opponent. I’m just bitching and moaning bc I really think Bobo is going to be our Achilles heel. Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy, he is a true Dawg so to speak, but he is far from a good OC today IMO. He is going to keep costing us as long as he is our OC IMO. I hope he is sandbagging, but honestly I think he just isn’t that good.

We will see though, I look forward to next week, but I’m not optimistic about it. Today should have been a day where we build up Gunner Stockton’s confidence by putting up big numbers on Austin Peay, but we looked very mediocre.

Granted, we will be more prepared I’m sure before heading to Neyland, but it’s worrisome. Our offense should have shined today, and we certainly did not.

It does give me 2023 Tennessee vibes where we struggled in a game against in-state FCS Mid-Major (I think it may have been Austin Peay actually) and then went to Florida and laid an egg.

I hope I am right. Beating you guys would be a program-defining win for Heupel. I would put it on par with 1998 Florida (although I don't think we are a National Title contender, I think it would get a monkey off our back like it did in 1998).

They’ve worked since Day 1 on Tennessee. Don’t be silly.

There is truth to that. Florida and Spurrier used to do that as well. They played two cupcakes before Tennessee so we were their first real opponent while Tennessee would often play stronger teams in the 1990s to open the season.

I honestly think next week will be a very good game. I think our defense will keep us in the game.🤞 But I’ve very little faith in our offense, and it has nothing to do with our players, we have some absolute ridiculously talented players, I have very little faith in Bobo against a true SEC defense.

It’s in Neyland! I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, but I understand your meaning, GA has been a bit of a Juggernaut lately and that would absolutely be a huge win for TN! Im telling you the truth, if I were a TN fan I’d be salivating at the chance! Honestly, if you lose, who cares, you lost to GA, no big deal, keep going and get better. However, if you win, it’s a huge statement!!!! I say this bc I’m afraid my Dawgs are ripe for the picking. Not bc we lack talent at all, but bc we look very ordinary against opponents we should destroy with no effort.

Who knows though, either way a loss next week won’t kill either of our programs, but my fear is that a win is going to mean a whole lot more to TN partially bc of the reasons you mentioned.

I expect a very good game though. I expect GA will play up to playing a better opponent instead of looking pedestrian against a lesser opponent. I’m honestly worried bc of Bobo, but hopefully it’s a good game. I expect it will be.

Kirby Smart has been good in finding ways to attack Tennessee. Ironically, Georgia attacks our perceived strengths.

In 2022, they went after Hooker and forced him to throw under pressure. He had an off game and our offense sputtered.

In 2024, Georgia went after our defense. While Georgia slowed our offense in the second half, a lot of our issues was our defense's inability to stop the short passing and Georgia holding onto the ball with the conversions. Basically Georgia attacked the defense with short passing and the unit that was the perceived strength (defense line) was made irrelevant on the stat chart.

One challenge with 2025 Tennessee is that it isn't quite clear yet where our strengths and weaknesses are. Even as a fan, I am not sure about this team yet. I think the strength is that they play together well and play with a chip on their shoulder.

I agree, Kirby has been thinking about this game all offseason and will likely have a good game plan. But like you say, will the game plan work? I expect and hope for a good game. I’m worried about scoring against you guys in Neyland. Either way, I’m so glad CFB is back!!! Win or lose it’s gonna be better than the off season!!! I wish you Vols luck………just not too much next weekend!😂 @volbound1700
