When the divisions came to be, it was us and Florida for so long.
And, when expansion came, newcomer Mizzou took advantage of a weak east that nobody seemed to want.
But, now, it looks like that Georgia finally has their act together. They have recruited like the best Auburn look alike bagman would blush over. They are loaded and look to be so under Smart for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Florida continues to run in place and Mullen doesn’t seem to be a recruiting juggernaut.
So, instead of us chasing Florida it looks like it will be Georgia.
Of course, right now we are chasing everyone.
But, I think that will change in a few years.
I think Pruitt has the right staff to get us the talent to go head to head with Georgia in a few years.
At least, we all hope so.
I respect your position but I couldn't disagree more.
I will never never NEVER hate another team the way I hate Florida. I dislike UGA. I really don't care for Vandy. I can do without Bama, but I utterly LOATHE Florida. My contempt for the Gators is unrivaled, unhealthy and irrational at times and that will never change.
Old Tennessee fans would rather beat Alabama than Florida. New younger fans it is Florida. Georgia has always been the stepsister to those two. I would much rather beat Alabama than Florida.
Florida owned us at the height of our power. Manning always played at his worst against the Gators. Our ST always gave up a critical return. Our LBs always missed tackles. Our DBs always missed assignments or took bad angles. Our Oline always whiffed on blocks. We made mistakes against Florida that we didn't against others We played scared and we played not to loose.Ga is not in our heads.
We beat them with far less talent aka both Kiffin and Jones.
Fl is in our heads.
They practically our living rent free in our psyches and need to go away.

No team has cost us more than Florida. Hell I'd argue Fulmer could have 2 or maybe even 3 rings today if Florida wasn't in the East.
It's far too soon to predict Mullen's success or failure at UF, either in recruiting or W-L.
And besides, I'm not sure what good it does you to finish third or worse with UF at the top versus UGA at the top.
If you ain't first, you're last.
