Murray's taken a step back. You're kidding yourself if you wouldn't trade us quarterbacks.
Georgia is motivated off the charts - they see the East is winnable with SC doing choke job on their offense, UF getting beat like a drum last week (and this week),and KY and Vandy being, well, KY and Vandy. This game is every bit as important to their season as it is to us. Their defense is playing much better and are still athelete to athelete a notch above us. That being said, Bray is slightly better than Murray and they don't have anyone that can shut down DaRick. This game will be close, and it wouldn't surprise me if we lose. However, I'm praying that Bray rises above his tendancy to throw pics in big, meaningful games, and we somehow, some way, put together something resembling a run game. Otherwise, it could be a long night. I will go with the Vols in a close one 28 - 24
I am just asking you to be realistic.....17 points is a not realistic....you lose creditability when you don't give respect....Tennessee should be at least good for 28 to 34 points without intangibles or other factors.....I am not sure what GA is ......but I don't see them getting over 20 to 25 without them if the game were in Athens maybe more...The line is 1 so I will state the obvious 30 to 23 Tennessee. Intangibles factored in 33 - 30 Tennessee....GA doesn't score over 23 without them....
The realism is the fact that your prediction states that UT will only score only 17 points against GA....This is an arrogant lack of disrespect....but, your main problem is that you are not confident enough in the GA Offense to score 17 points so you have to disregard the truth...Tennessee is going to score....at least 25 points the real question is...."Is GA Capable of Scoring that much against Tennessee at Neyland" The answer is No.....not in this environment....at night....Game played at GA different story
I agree with this 100%. We have the talent to beat them . But if out run game is anything like it was at Florida......we lose. I live 30 miles from UGA and if we do lose, I've got a long 12 months ahead of me till redemption time...... GBO!!!!!
I am not one to really be over confident heading in to any SEC match up unless of course, it's Kentucky, Vandy, or Ole Miss, but I have had it up to here this year.
Here we are sitting at 3-1 and I understand we don't have any quality big wins per say but these Georgia fans have taken it way too far. They are 3-2, and in my opinion, no quality big win neither. So where do Georgia fans get off talking like this is going to be a run away win. "Bray isn't in the same class as Kellen Moore or Stephen Garcia, so there will be no worries". Well Georgia here's a few things to think about, Garcia has been benched and replaced by Connor Shaw so Garcia was not even caliber quality to begin with. Moore is a good qb, but he struggled to put up numbers against a terrible Nevada team this past Saturday and I don't ever remember Moore putting up huge numbers @ Florida, @ Bama, @ Auburn, or any other big school for that matter. He put up big numbers against Jawja because Jawja is not the better team in that match up and Jawja isn't that good of a team to begin with.
Murray throws 3 picks against Mississippi State, and has struggled all year to put up anything really recognizable. Bray has been pretty much spot on despite a loss @ Florida. Bray is on the way to break many Peyton Manning records, one of the top 5 best SEC qb's ever. So you want to talk about caliber, with Georgia's number one pass rusher Washington out on a DUI charge, ohhhhhh boy, Georgia, your gonna wish you didn't come to Knoxville.
Bray explodes Saturday and then we'll hear the excuse but quite frankly, I don't give a **** anymore, you can screw off Georgia because a night game in Neyland is a whole lot different atmosphere than anything you have seen this season. It's sold out, and the thousands and thousands are going to make it holy hell Saturday night, Tennessee wins by at least 2 touchdowns.
GO BIG ORANGE
The time for talk is waning. None of us knows what will happen Sat. A win by either team wouldn't surprise me. I think the QB advantage has to go to Bray, but the lines of scrimmage on both sides goes to UGA. If Bray is sacked 3+ times, or hurried 6+ times, UGA wins. If he has time to throw all night, UT wins. Our secondary has played well the past few games, so finding an open receiver won't be as easy for Bray as it's been in this season, with the exception of the UF game. Should be fun to watch. With the exception of Sat, good luck the rest of the season.
Agree on Bray. WR looks to be a very slight UT advantage if you don't count TE's. Pretty even if you do.
Disagree on the OL. You have the run blocking advantage but UT has the pass blocking advantage.
Your secondary may be very good but they weren't great against the only legit QB you've faced. I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself. OTOH, we do not really know what UT can do with an opponent who has gameplanned them without Hunter. Buffalo was a gimmee. UF adjusted but had not gameplanned that way.
I don't necessarily believe you have a DL advantage. You seem to have a fairly significant LB advantage even without the guy who got suspended.
You have a RB advantage as long as Crowell doesn't get hurt.
Apparently you are, or this thread wouldn't exist.
Bray has? When? 288 yards is pretty decent, until you see it came with 2 INTs and on almost 50 ATTEMPTS. My grandma could put up 288 with 50 chances. Other than that, he hasn't even seen a good defense except when USC beat you guys last year on that incredible 159 yard performance, lol:. Bray is better than Garcia, but not close to Moore, nowhere near his caliber. Kellen is legitimately really good. Also, UGA will be the best defense UT has seen this year, better than UF.
Murray has been inconsistent, don't really know why or what to say about it. Definitely a worry for this game, but thankfully MSU's defense, while not coming close to expectations, still looks like the '86 Bears next to the Vol D. I worry about those picks against MSU, but then remember that this is the Vol secondary, and breathe a sigh of relief. Also, the OL hasn't been all-world, but again when you are facing the Vol DL, 5 or 6 9th graders is probably sufficient.
Buffalo just ran for 150 on you guys, Crowell hasn't ran for less than 100 on any SEC team yet, and USC is a far stronger run D than anything UT can even hope to muster. Isaiah will probably go for close to 200 by himself, who knows how much Thomas and Samuel tack on.
The fact you put their names in the same sentence is sacrelige and an insult to Peyton. Why don't we wait until Bray has actually played more than a couple of real defenses before we crown him GOAT QB for UT. Ridiculous homer, Manning would slap you in the mouth for saying that.
Doesn't everyone always wish they hadn't come to Knoxville as soon as they get there? Don't see what that has to do with the game.
Bray may explode, but it will be on the sideline due to frustration after Rambo picks him off 3-4 times and he and Boykin take da'rick out of the game.
Won't hear any excuses because UGA won't need any, UT will. Neyland isn't that different, the Dome gets damn loud as well, enclosed places tend to do that. The stadium won't be anything new, we have seen loud already.
Tyler has seen 2 ranked teams with any semblance of a defense at all in his entire career and **** the bed both times. Saturday will be #3. The Vols will be lucky to SCORE 2 TDs and win the game at all, much less by that margin.
UGA by 10+ due to Murray still doing his best to blow a conference game but Mitchell, Crowell and the D saving him from himself. If Murray plays as well as he is capable of and has shown in the past? UGA by 21.
My only hope for this game is after we get a 20+ lead the coaches don't let off the gas like they have been doing all season long. I think we need to make a statement to the rest of the country in a big way that the vols are to be feared again.
UT 52
UGA 9
I am a homer that wears orange classes while drinking the dool-aid and proud of it, if you don't like it then :Bbiteme: :number1:
Did you watch the game? Do you know anything about the quality of the two teams.:lolabove:
Murray - 15/25, 227 yds, 9.1 avg, 0 TD, 0 INT
Bray - 18/33, 251 yds, 7.6 avg, 0 TD, 0 INT
Murray - Win
Bray - Loss
