Cheap shot university. Whine like three year olds when Chubb blew his knee on our turf (which sucked, he is a good back and our field was atrocious for about a year then). But their culture, their ethos, their very being is cheap shot, late hit, chop block, knee targeting dirty football. It’s who they are.

I know it's hard to swallow, but UGA kicked our ass. Dirty plays are what they are but they made no difference whatsoever.

Didn’t say they did. Just noting an important feature of Cheap Shot University, aka uga.

I don’t ever want our guys targeting knees trying to injure. The 1990 TVA and the 1998 version were mean and hard hitting. They weren’t cheap shot hitters. They weren’t uga.

These types of blocks need to be addressed in a similar fashion as targeting is. Personal foul with ejection of the guilty party. Then we would see coaches clean this up real fast. Losing a starting Oline can be a game changer.

Dang bullies!

If there was only a way to fight back, to support teammates. To forcefully demand and gain respect.

But that's impossible, because the world just isn't as nice and sweet as my momma told me it would be.

<Gives up, puts on pink p#$$y hat.>

A Tennessee player literally threw a punch during the game...

They have a rep for playing dirty.. A lot of Atlanta ghetto thugs on their team, probably why they're so good. Like Swain said a few years back, we need more thugs.

Tennessee fans are the only ones claiming that UGA plays dirty. No other fanbase mentions it and there's absolutely no evidence to back it up. If there was there would be lots of injured players all over the SEC, etc. Tennessee players don't even claim it and referees would certainly call any chop blocks they saw. Football is a rough and fast sport. If you've ever played it you know that you block the best way you can and get blocked the best way your opponent can. I played outside LB and got blocked low and broke my ankle. I didn't blame the O-lineman who blocked me. It's a rough sport and players get hurt every now and then. If UGA played dirty, you'd have lots of players out. Don't be sore losers.

Nope. You're not gonna do that. The chop block had little to do with our loss Saturday, so you can drop that little trite throwaway. Simmons WAS doing a good job against uga's running game, but I don't consider his loss to be a major reason we lost.

Yes, uga is a dirty program. Football is a violent sport, and injuries occur. And shoves, punches, etc happen. No big deal. for many years, I have noted uga's OL style is to go for knees constantly. Comparing it to Bama, Bama holds every play. Blatantly. So much that it isn't even called. So much that often Bama's OL has had more tackles in our games than Tennessee's LBs. It's part of the culture. But, by and large, Bama doesn't target knees and hit dirty.

uga does. Period. Deal with it.

What insight. A punch or shove after the play (which happen all the time, it is football after all) is directly comparable to an intentional chop block.

And, to revisit an old nugget - Chubb slipping on our crappy sod (our field sucked for about a year and a half for some reason) is directly comparable to Kublanow diving at Shy Tuttle's knee, breaking his leg, and then uga putting Kublanow on the UT ticket the next year.

I don't know how I missed these two obvious comparisons.

It wasn’t a shove. It was a punch. Generally when players throw punches, they’re ejected.

Chubb didn’t slip, he was tackled. I don’t think it was dirty because if I remember correctly he was still in the field of play. I also never said anything about Chubb nor Tuttle, so not sure why it’s brought up.

My point is you can’t condemn dirty play of one team while forgiving it for your own. If the chop block was intentional, then it was dirty. The punch was clearly intentional and was dirty.

Punches aren't dirty. They're punches. You can get ejected for it. That doesn't equal dirty. Stop it.
