Richt is head and shoulders better than Phulmer.

The screw turned on this one when UGA got Rodney Garner from us and started to keep some of thier better in-state talent. I was in school in Georgia in the 1990s and I really thought they had a lack of talent compared to UF and UT. Obviously, that is not the case anymore.

I cant say I like losing to UGA. But Ill not take anything away from Mark Richt. This was supposed to be the year of his measuring stick, the year that was going to tell if he recruited the rights people for his team.

As bad as I hate to say it, he passes with flying colors.

Then again, last year UGA was supposed to cruise to an SEC East title but that didn't work out too well.

CMS and the Tide got tired of UT's domination over them. Now that domination is ended.
When you get tired of it and have had enough of it, there's only one thing to do and that's put an end to it. :matrix:

And next year will be another. then another, and another, etc.
Bama keeps getting better and better. UT keeps getting worse, and worse.....
Believe me. It's over. :matrix:

Once again, Bama did not win. UT game them the game. You will lose to LSU and probably Auburn. Deal with it.

And I would appreciate it if LSU and Auburn would go ahead and give us their games too.

"Richt is head and shoulders better than Phulmer. "

You can say that when he goes undefeated in the SEC and win the BCS title game. Something Fulmer did with his own players. Remember, Richt won the SEC under former coach Donnan recruits.

The problem UGA has is Coach Richt leaving for FSU whenever Bowden retires. Yes, it bugs me to the point of any sec team bugging me with total domination, ie. Alabama(Byrant),Florida (Spurrier) and it doesn't help to live in Tennessee and live by UGA grads, even thoguh they are the best neighbors.

Dont worry CMR isn't going to leave anytime soon. He has stated that he and his family are happy in GA and will not leave for any coaching job in America and that includes FSU. Plus he has a FAT contract until 2010 that pays very well.

He WILL be the predecessor to Bobby Bowden!

There will definitely be a mad scramble for the job between guys like Richt, Amato and at least one Bowden, but in the end I think UGA has enough money to keep Richt in Athens for a long time.

I think he will stay put at GA.

Bob Stoops turned down the Florida job because he was already competing and winning N.C.'s where he was at.

Richt is in the same position. There is nothing he can do at FSU that he cant do at GA now. Whats the motivation? I'm sure whatever salary FSU were to offer, GA would counter it to keep him. Dont see any motivation for making the move, unless he is a die hard FSU fan at heart. But I think GA has tried to treat him well and he has already built up a great program and staff there.

Dont forget the Penn state job as well. Im sure Penn State will pay a large sum for a young and impressive coach. Not saying it is Richt but he will be pursued by them.

He reminds me of Nick Saban. One of the top coaches in college football at the time of his departure. I know he had won a national championship. He then left for the pros. It will be interesting to see if Richt leaves for FSU.
