Ewers signed at Ohio State his freshman year and got a million bucks. Transferred after that year.Curious....If a player remains injured long enough and decides to redshirt, they still get their NIL money correct? They could theoretically get paid for this year and transfer in the next portal opening with full eligibility remaining?
Playing high school ball, I had one that ended up being a bulged disc in my neck, causing a pinched nerve and subsequent weakness in my right arm. The result was the end of my football career. I wasn't any good and had no chance of playing even D3, but the orthopedic surgeon told me that if I thought about trying that he wouldn't clear me. Once a disc starts to bulge, it takes a long time to heal to the point where it stops bulging. It’s a stinger which is nerve damage and it certainly has turned out worse than initial thoughts. He is still experiencing weakness.
You are misremembering Trey Smith's situation.Great. So our best two 5* offensive line recruits of the past decade, Trey Smith and David Sanders, both have been unable to begin their careers at Tennessee due to their health.
One with blood clots who is seemingly fine now, and the other with a “common” stinger that has now manifested to nerve damage and missing 1/4 of the season thus far. There must be something in the water in Knoxville. You can’t make this stuff up.
It matters because he was an All- American as a true freshman. He played a whole season and stood out.I am, however you’re missing the main point. Trey Smith missed time here because of the blood clots, regardless of when they occurred.
Im sorry, you’re wrong. It is close to the same situation in that they were both 5 star O-line recruits who missed multiple games as underclassman. I never said a stinger was a similar medical situation to blood clots? It matters because he was an All- American as a true freshman. He played a whole season and stood out.
We haven’t even seen Sanders play one snap.
Not even close though o being the same situation.
Started out as he wasn't feeling well. Led me to think it was an illness. Now it's an injury that remains a problem? Seems very odd. Even Heupel seemed a bit put off a while back during a press conference I believe. Kinda wonder if we don't see either Gibson or Sanders again this season?I'm guessing Sanders injury is worse than we've been led to believe. Perry has looked good in his spot, stinks about Moi he seemed poised for a great season.
It’s all good, we both know you commented on that point even if you say you didn’t. No need to play coy. Also, no need to correct tertiary details that are irrelevant to the point just for the sake of arguing.I was just correcting you on Trey Smith. Just a minor detail. Not a big deal. We have stud OL. I'm not bothered.
probably compressed his suprascapular nerve, it's referred to as a stinger but not in the way most think of a stingerStinger that persists for 3 weeks? Concerning. They typically resolve much sooner. This may take some time to untangle. Roll with who you got and let the medical staff work this up carefully.
