As per NCAA rule, the AD must advise recruiters to make it known when a coach has potential to be let go. SOOO...Georgia notified John Theus last night of that potential IF UGA doesn't finish high in the SEC. Nervous about today, are they?

A recruiter called John last night at 1035 pm and told him the skinny. Brian Kelly calls him at 1115 to invite him up for an official. He's heading up for the ND/USC game now. I know we are set pretty good, it would be awesome to land the #4 OL in the country.

Back to the point. Anybody on UGA's radar that we would be interested in stealing?

I think your lost coach. This is a message board for fans, not your players.

Come on though. I don't completely disagree, but this thread is a little extreme. What players will we go after, after we beat Georgia, their season implodes, and Richt gets fired?

what ncaa rule is this?

in addition, even if i knew for certain that i was going to fire mark richt, why would i let that cat out of the bag because of this "rule"

couldn't i claim that i wasn't thinking about firing him, but at the end of the season considering all things involved, i decided to fire him.

i would really like to see where this rule exists and how one is able to enforce the rule unless they can get inside the brain of a respective school's athletic director.

what if it's not even the athletic director that makes the decision to fire the coach? what if the school president orders the athletic director to fire the coach?

UGA has its problems but, right now, we have our problem and it is the DAWGS coming into Neyland.

Let's get a win today and let the DAWGS have several things to worry about. If we whip them today, those recruits UGA's AD is warning about Richt possible departure will beat a path to the Vols.

Break out the Slobberknockers today!

What are you talking about? There's no such NCAA rule, that's some sort of silly fantasy.

i thought the same thing, but did not want to come out and directly say "BS"

No, it's absolutely BS. Who out here believes Mike Hamilton was on the phone alerting recruits that he might fire Fulmer?

that's just silly.

everyone knows it was fulmer's responsibility to tell potential recruits he might get fired.

now, the ncaa will launch an investigation on tennessee for this.

will it ever end?

thanks, phil

Look all knowing. The recruiter called Mr. Theus and explained the situation and why he called him to notify the family. So call it BS if you want but i know for a fact that's what was said.

Must have been a recruiter from another school. No coach in history has called a kid they were recruiting and old them they might be fired.

Of all the ridiculous things I've seen posted on a message board, this might top them all.

Attacking the OP, well done. Par for the board of those who don't have clue about the topic but choose to try and blow it out of the water. After we thrash em tonight, sit back and watch the cards fall. It would be different if i was on here 24/7 blowing smoke.

Deerpark has no idea who was on the phone but spins it his way. Typical. Where did i say THE COACH called? Now that is ridiculous.

Then who from Georgia called them? Coaches are the only staff members for a school that are permitted, per ACTUAL NCAA rules, to contact recruits. The AD or sport administrator can only contact recruits that have actually signed letters of intent.

So if someone other than a coach was calling from Georgia, then I'd like to know who it is so we can turn them in.

Somebody is feeding someone a load of ??? Could be a negative recruiter, but to think there is an unenforceable rule like that is crazy.

The last time we were claiming another team was nervous, that was Florida, and it didn't turn out well.

people shoot the messenger when the message doesn't make any sense (and that's being kind).

the post started with....."as per ncaa rule".....

there is no ncaa rule. so, it's hard to accept the rest of the post, when the very first sentence is sprinkled with horse****
