And here’s what Tennessee needs to do. Somehow, someway, create an offensive position for Quarles where he could learn the ropes of, and augment, Cutcliffe’s UT offense.

Some people reading this no doubt think I’m off my rocker, because they would say Quarles doesn’t have enough experience. I would say from watching Tennessee’s stagnant product all season that they have too many miles on the tires. As ESPN.com’s Chris Low recently told me on the air, “I don’t want this to be taken the wrong way, but Tennessee has become an old staff. They could use some new blood.”

As usual, Basilio manages to make the crayon users at the News Sentinel look smart by comparison.

lets see...the last time a big time college football program hired a high school coach for an important staff position (HC or CO), if memory serves me correctly...was...Notre Dame with Gerry Faust. don't think either CPF or MH have the cojones to follow THAT precedent.

Quarles is a genius.. i just dont know if he'd be ready for UT. He's very personable too.

Well, unless he hires people mentioned on this board, he's a moron. Volnation has all the answers. Freakin experts are everywhere on here! :birgits_giggle:

Lighten up, my man. It was a joke. That being said, just don't act like someone knows nothing because they disagree with your point of view. It's all opinions here, no more no less. I wouldn't hire the guy, but I don't make these decisions for a living.

This sh*t is chess, not checkers!! (Sorry got Training Day on the brain )

I agree that everybody is just throwing out names but before George Quarles ever gets his name mentioned for a FBS College Football job, he needs to move up the ranks by coaching at lower level colleges, basically like everyone else.

I agree. You're preaching to the choir here.
