George Mac

He did a really good job of leading his receivers on those throws to the sidelines. They were in front of the receiver to allow the receiver to start momentum down the field.
Great pocket presence .as you said good delivery to wides .only thing at this moment is arm strength..You can see Joeys ball compared to him it's just a work in progress weight room will fix that

Do we take a portal transfer for depth?
Joey could also return if he wanted to and we wanted him back. Honestly as of today I’m not entirely against that idea. Let George redshirt this year. Be the backup next season while Faizon redshirts. Then have those 2 compete for the starting job in 2027

GMac looked very poised and in control. CLEARLY....his two biggest issues are size (weight & durability) and experience. Both will come with time but GMac is very athletic. At this point though I'm sure CJH is telling him to please stay in the pocket.

It’s crazy that our 4th string true Freshman QB has better pocket presence than what’s his name
It’s pronounced Rico I-am-a-leaver.

I heard he played with a sprained labia all season last year. No clue what his problem is this year.

Mac has no shot of playing here unless he gets a lot bigger. Those legs are smaller than twigs

Not the way it works in this day and age. A quality QB is not coming here as a depth piece so you either take a QB to compete for the starting job or ride with G-Mac and Brandon.

IMO we have G-Mac and Brandon battling for the job in 2026 and the loser transfers out before 2027.

If GMac is really balling like that he could start the next two years and head to the NFL and Brandon could get his two years after. There’s also teams nowadays forcing qbs out early to pass the reins over to the next guy which is an option after the two years of Mac.

GMAC is the guy next year IMHO
If he is the guy next year, then Faizon is transferring after the season

I think Heupel is going to go with the higher ceiling freshman in Faizon. Has to make his choice this off-season, because the loser isn’t sticking around to sit behind another freshman

Plus Mac doesn’t look like a guy that has the genes/metabolism to magically add 30-40 lbs before next season

Neither freshman is losing the job to another freshman and sitting behind him. Not happening

Too many opportunities out there to transfer and be a starting QB
