Gentleman, it's about time...

people can go back and forth on what the definitely is of "big" game or "big" win. But truth is...as some have pointed out...we've been beating the teams we should and the way we should...but it's been some time since we've beaten a team that was likely more talented, etc. Yea....LSU would be a "bigger" win...obviously. But you have to start somewhere. And this win could help build momentum and confidence for the guys..which could lead to another one or two wins in October. If so...that also makes this saturday big. Who cares about definining big...it's just semantics. It's Georgia...it's a night game...it keeps us alive in the SEC East (even if it doesn't last forever).

As for me...I'll be driving down from Indianapolis for this game. I only make a game or two a year...at best. This is my first game of the year. I can't wait to get rowdy on rocky top!!

Go Vols!

I don't see how anyone can call this not an important win. It's an SEC opponent. When you're looking to get back into the SECCG, every SEC East win is important. We'll get there. Dooley will get us a good one this year.

I was a "fade route realist" from 2001-2009. I expected UT to lose the big game and was shocked more than elated when UT did win a big game. His type of "realist" attitude is just complacency, apathy and being a mediocre fan.

I jumped with both feet into the Big Orange Fanatic Pool! It is great to be a true fan again.

LawVol, the historic turning point was when I heard Coach Dooley's speech as he became our head coach. It feels great to have a coach lead the Vols who understands and believes how great Tennessee Volunteer Football is!

Man, I wish. After last year's lost, I'm not sure if I can survive another LSU game with Miles on the sidelines.

I would love nothing more than to derail LSU's hopes of a NC. Revenge from last season would be sweet, but they are a better team now. It's a long shot. We win Saturday though and this game might garner some attention.

Yeah, I would agree with that. I do like the progress Dooley is making. He just needs a solid win this year. I don't want us going into next year without beating a team we weren't supposed to beat.

Yeah this is a great opportunity to get one with LSU and Alabama up next. One of those teams will play in the NC. I agree though. He needs a big win to show some real progress. Beating the cupcake teams and UK and Vandy every year doesn't cut it.

What the OP said...

and if our guys do happen to lose this game, please be an adult and don't take it out on your dog nor your family. :)

Maybe go split some fire wood or something... :eek:k:

I consider last year a tie. We won the first game and they won the second game that the ref gave them.
