The sheer amount of buffoonery on display from some of my fellow Vol fans is plum embarrassing.

I know this won't help, but I have to try. To you Fulmer apologists, Think about the beatings, and I mean beatings, we received at the hands of Florida in the 90's. Now think about the wins we have over Florida in that same era, not even remotely similar huh. Losing by double digits repeatedly, and winning on a missed overtime field goal are not even in the same galaxy. Fulmer was a mediocre, at best, football coach, who systematically played not to lose instead of playing to win (this alone tells you all you need to know about his coaching skill). He was an above average recruiter, until he got extremely lazy.

He was nothing without Cut. Loving UT has nothing to do with coaching talent, and I think you are confusing the two.

My dad and I were in a discussion with some other UT fans today, and we got on the topic of football. The guy was arguing that maybe we aren't as great of a program traditionally as we think we are. What coach other than Neyland himself or Fulmer actually had prolonged success?

9th in wins
9th in winning pct.
2nd in SEC wins and winning pct.
2nd in SEC titles
2nd in bowl appearances
5th in bowl wins

I don't have the exact numbers, but we're around 4th or 5th in college football hall of famers and in the top 5-10 in All-Americans.

We got tradition coming out the ears.
