I randomly decided to play a little this week and was reminded that I really love this game.

The original was one of the first PvP shooters I became addicted to when I got my xbox 360. There's something about those one-on-one shotgun battles that you don't get from other games.

Anyway, while I don't think we're close enough to hear anything about Gears 6 at the showcase that's coming in about ten days, do you think there's any chance we could see a Gears remastered? I know they already did the first one, but I'd love to see 2 and 3 redone and updated to 120hz.

I'm guessing I'm one of the few on here that care. lol. @NorthDallas40 you still playing Gears 5 Horde these days?

Now and then I’ll go do dailies in it. We’re spending a lot of time in Back4Blood right now. Trying to complete campaign on nightmare is a nightmare of itself 😂. Can’t wait for Gears 6 and if ever do a Gears remaster like the Master Chief collection I’ll buy it in a heartbeat!!

That's what I'm hoping for but I'm not holding my breath.

Back4Blood? I played that a decent amount recently. I can't imagine completing it on nightmare, although I play with randoms so that's probably why. lol.

It has a steep learning curve for sure. We got to easily completing it on the lowest level so we ratcheted it up nightmare and we’re struggling again. Tuning our campaign decks, using burn cards, and tuning cleaner group makeup to ease the pain. No magical formula yet 😢

The 1v1 shotgun battles in the original gears were something else.

There was something special and rewarding about being able to dodge blast after blast and then blowing your opponent to bits lol.

They've kept the same feel in Gears 5, imo. There's no game that I've found that replicates the experience of a Gears shotgun battle. Nobody plays the classic execution mode much anymore, but still, modes like King of the Hill/Control are a lot of fun.

It's hard for me to get excited about since this is the second time they've remastered the original Gears. It's starting to feel like this is Xbox's version of "Last of Us" with all of the re-releases.

I never knew about that. I think this time around they’re making it available for PlayStation owners (like myself who’s never played one of these games).
