Man I would love to have a real return specialist. Maybe that is a luxury. Freaked me out two years ago when we had Jermod McCoy returning punts. The only guy on the team we couldn't afford to get hurt.

I actually understand why Huepel let Boo return punts in the Oklahoma game. Yes he was a liability on defense, but the only guy on the team that could take a punt to the house.

He would have been a much needed punt returner and sorta of a widget, slot player. He does not go down after the first hit. Sad we lost him. I was excited to see him play.

Read where one analyst had him listed as the steal of our portal class.

This. A Pig Howard type of player. Quick. Could've stopped our dry spell of not running reverses.

Shows how incompetent and lazy this staff has been in the portal. If you take away who Knowles brought in, it’s ****ing embarrassing. Heupel is in over his head.

"If you take away the DC that Heupel brought in and all the players that he brought with him, and you take away the players from other teams that were brought in, and you take away the other defensive coaching changes that were made, then coach Heupel has done essentially nothing! Its embarrassing that our coach has done nothing! How can we support this?!"

Is this rage bait? or just a very angry, over-simplified opinion to a complex issue?

Plus. Take away the returning players he brought in. Then, he has REALLY done nothing!

Yes. And Oklahoma state. Wouldn’t have even played unless Staley got hurt
He would probably have been a returner day 1 for kicks and punts.

He would be behind Staley AND Dodson in the Slot. Maybe Tyreek King too, but I dont know if he's going outside or slot. There's a lot of guys outside though behind Matthews and likely Keys. Jackson, Smith, etc. Will be interesting to see where King goes because even as a 4* Bluechip he is way underrated IMO. Showed out big time at elite camps this year. The director of scouting for ON3 called King " a TD waiting to happen" at camp because he was the most dominant WR there. Hometown kid too.

He wouldn't have seen the field much as a WR but he would havet been a great punt areand kick returner. Sucks but not a huge loss
No offense, but kick returns of any kind are minimal in the game today. Special teams other than FG and XPs are kind of meaningless. If he was brought on mainly to return kicks, it's a waste of money and a scholarship.
