Gaulden injured his foot in practice

Yeah, I'm getting like Butch on the reporting of these injuries. I don't want them reported. I don't want to hear about another one of them through the media or through friends of the media posting on VN.

I'm urging Freak to ban anyone who reports on any further injuries. Knowing about them won't do any one of us any good and has contributed thus far to severe angst and mild to severe manic depression resulting in incontinence in some cases and complete impotence and neurotic spasms in others.

Yes, let's limit the information because some people can't handle real life, then we can give everyone trophies for participation. Maybe we could just close our eyes and nobody will see us. Then we could just blindly walk through the season hoping that we're AWESOME !

I was hoping that this entire post was typed in blue

My brother is a foot specialist. He said most foot fractures and breaks take at least 6-8 weeks to recover. Take it however you want to. I just wish him a speedy recovery regardless.

If that's the case, he could possibly be back by Bama game.

Per Hubbs

Let’s start with the news on Rashaan Gaulden, who already was penciled in for space here in the War Room but for altogether different reasons. Gaulden had been basically a model of consistency and had all but locked down the starting nickelback position.

Now with a broken foot suffered in special teams work Thursday and further medical testing coming to determine its severity and rule out any additional damage, Gaulden will be out likely at least a month and potentially longer, depending upon the results from additional tests. Grant Ramey reached out to UT Thursday night and UT indicated it would have “no” comment on Gaulden’s status.

VolQuest.com wishes Gaulden and Todd Kelly Jr., recovering from tonsil surgery midweek, speedy recoveries in their returns.

Didn't see a thread, but just saw on Facebook on 247 sports he broke a bone in his foot and will be out at least a month. Sorry I can't do links with my phone.

Well hell. I am truly sorry for Rashaan. Quite a few Vol fans were looking forward to seeing what he could do on the field.

THis Blows!!

Although injuries are always terrible, secondary is one of the areas where we have quality depth. I always thought Justin Martin was our 3rd best cornerback and a lineup of him and Moseley on the oustide and Cam in the nickle was our best bet. This shouldn't change our chances in the first half of the season.

Hopefully Justin is back in practice soon and we can have him take over as our 3rd corner.

I would say look at Devante Parker's injury last year at Louisville. He broke his 5th metatarsal (his pinky bone) in his foot on almost the exact same day, August 21 2014. He missed the first 7 games of the season. We all know a WR needs to be able to move in all directions, to cut on a dime. The foundation needs to be solid. A DB is no different. Now I don't think we've found out what exactly was broken but using Parker's injury as a guide, I'm thinking about 6-7 games he'll be out. Mid October or so.

hopefully by that point Justin Martin is so good we'll have forgotten about Gaulden.

I dont really want to forget Gaulden, rather have him and Justin Martin battling with the elder Martin leading and showing Rashaan the ropes. But competition breeds excellence, so I hope they are both healthy at the same time at some point this season.

Martin and Gaulden are both true sophomores.
