Without firing Dooley, Can't we reach out to coaches and see who shows interest..

If anyone shows interest that is worth it.. Hire Them!

I've been wondering for a while if the AD is allowed to gauge interest on the down low because it would be smart if Hart gauged interest this year even if we don't make a change till next year.

Not sure if this "is done all the time" or not, but if I'm a coach and an AD goes behind the current coaches back to "gauge interest", I'd have to ask myself if I really want to uproot my family and relocate to work for someone who operates this way.

The flip side to that is what does it say about a coach who's willing to entertain contact and interest behind the scenes. Does that make him a long term solution? Does it speak to his character and commitment to his employer? Might be a totally different world in college business, but those are thoughts that would run through my mind.

Petersen is not going anywhere. He's got enough sense to stay put, and he definitely aint coming to the SEC meatgrinder. lol

Tough to do with agents involved. They love to spread the word that there's interest in their client. Great tool for getting more money.

Of course its done all the time, through agents and services. Nobody has to know the destination is UT other than the service we use. Then of course you have the Auburn/Petrino deal, thats a good example of how not to handle these things.

Unfortunately it makes no sense for him. He's got a good thing going up there in Idaho.
