A lot of forecasts on here that the Alligators won't be able to play with OSU.
I'm of the opinion that the FL defense is fast enough, and strong enough, to give anybody fits. 2 big plays from the offense and 1 from special teams, and Florida wins this game.
Exactly... it doesn't matter how bad Florida's offense is, their defense can and should kepe them in the game. Now, their offense can certainly lose it...

Absolutely.

I am encouraged by the way the offense played Saturday. It is true that Leak had two pretty awful interceptions, including one for a touchdown. But he also had some very nice passes, including the TD to Harvin and the offense otherwise really took some chances.

Against OSU for all the marbles I'd much rather see them open things up like they finally did and risk losing by a few touchdowns than come out and be flat and too conservative, as they had been against Vandy, SCarolina, FSU, etc., losing by ten in a game with a bunch of "what ifs."

I think only way we can win is to let guys like Harvin and Baker take the ball and just go.

Having inlaws from Michigan doesn't help any.I hope the SEC champ kills the buckeyes!I'm not too proud to root for the Gators or any SEC team in bowl games. It's about strength of conference isn't it.LSU vs ND.Go Tigers.I just wish we were playing once defeated Wisconsin in a bowl.

personally, i hate OSU and I hate Florida. picking a team to root for in this one is like, well, it just plain bad.

that said, i'll probably wind up rooting for who ever is the underdog...likely florida.

i think Florida's D is good enough to hang with OSU. that's one part of Florida's team that has been underestimated, nationally anyway, than anything. all the talk about the offense from the talking heads and they act like there's only one phase of the game.

their d is good and they'll give OSU fits.

question is can their offense be consistent enough against and a better than expected OSU d?

the thought of urban meyer getting a NT in year two though does sicken me. i wish they could both lose.

I think you guys have your work cut out for you, but I will be pulling for you to bring home another National Championship for the SEC.

Good luck to you guys, too. I will surely be pulling for the SEC teams in all of the bowl games. I always do because despite the rivalries I respect the SEC teams for playing in the nation's toughest conference and the more we all win in these interconference match-ups, the better off we all are.

The only way I will ever root for UF is if they are playing bammer. Then I hope for a ton of overtimes and some major rule infractions that causes both to end with a loss.
As much as I don't care for OSU, I say GO BUCKEYES!

In comparing my quote to yours, I cannot help but think that one of us (you) is both short-sighted and immature, whereas the other (me) is wise and reasonable.

I can't stand Florida or Ohio State. Both coaches are A-holes and most (not all) their fans act like one as well. I hope the game is cancelled and Boise State wins the darn Chamionship. The heck with the gators and Blackeyes!

Well then color me unreasonable and immature. I hate Ohio State, but if they asked, I'd go dot the I in Ohio before the game. :p

So would I, but just because it would mean I'd get to hang out on the field.

I don't think you generalize enough. You need to be much more uninformed and irrational in your opinions, please.

Thanks.

Leak better play well and no TOs, and Harvin the speedster run for 120 yards and the D not give up the long ball mabey they could pull it out, or it will be the Fla Nebraska game all over again.

Congrats to Florida. I cant stand Ohio State so I hope Florida wins this one. Plus it will be good for the SEC if Florida gets the win over the Buckeyes!

I have given that some thought but you know what? There is always a risk of that when you have two teams coming to play from different conferences and no real way to compare them. There are no common opponents.

Sure, OSU has looked like world beaters in some games and UF has only beaten some pretty mediocre football teams by a little bit, but mediocre relative to what? I mean, Florida beat South Carolina by a blocked field goal. But how good would South Carolina have been in the Big Ten? Or the Pac-10?

How about FSU? They lose to Wake by 30 at home. But how would their speed have shown up at, say, Penn State? Or Wisconsin? No way to tell.

Flip side: How does Wisconsin do if they have to play SEC defenses all year?

I'm just saying that you can't tell what is going to happen in this game. I'd never wager on the outcome, that's for sure.

True, Im glad for you, and the SEC, even if you lose I just hope the Gators do us proud. This is the year cause you lose so many great players on D.

OK -- this is my opinion for all that it is worth. This year I am pulling hard for all the SEC teams. I don't really care who they are playing or where. I would like to hear the media talk about running the gauntlet which is the SEC and give some credit to all our teams with one or two losses. I hope Florida won't be too obnoxious if they win. The fact is, they have been remarkably like our '98 team - the ball has bounced their way quite a lot.

I don't think we'll be too obnoxious if we win, at least not us fans who have seen both sides of the coin when it comes to success and failure. I think most seasoned Gator fans recognize that the team has been very fortunate this year to be in the position it is in. If we win it, great. Something to be proud of and we are surely anticipating great things in the coming years under Meyer.

But not like we've been hammering anybody this year. I just don't see us getting out of hand about it.
