Gators claim TT "trucked" Berry

Berry stood his ground. Tebow out weighs him and had had more steps of momentum going into the hit. He did go down. He did not truck him.

Defenders Job is stop the runner, Offender Job is to keep running...Looks like Barry won, Hands down. Sure would not have wanted to be between them regardless. Football at its finest.

Based on the weight advantage in Tebow's favor I say it was a failure on his part that he couldn't actually run over EB.

No this defense is easy. If you watch the tape Berry jumped straight up and if you look at Tebow he had to shake his head a couple of times because he got rocked. He had to shake the hit off. Plus if you add in the weight difference from Tebow to berry you will see that Berry stopped him in his tracks. Just more excuses from the Gator nation. I would aslo say no pass T.D.'s and a berry interception trumps Tebow.

Even people on the first page of that thread disagreed, when they hit, the ball and TT went 0 inches forward, just straight to the ground. thats a tie in my book.

CBS College Football had a re-run of THE hit, in slow moting and from a different angle. EB hit TT and stopped him in his tracks, actually, TT was going backwards for a split second. Then, the other two UT players hit them and that's when TT fell forward, and EB went backwards. The view clearly shows EB got the best of it.
Wish I had the link.

Tebow's Defender Hall of Shame.... - GatorCountry.com Swamp Gas Forums

I don't know the definition of trucked, but I would think for a hit to qualify as a truck the runner would have to continue. TT failed to take a single step after contact he just fell forward. Berry got knocked backwards. I would call the collision a draw.

Thoughts

That hit was a draw. Tebow had all the momentum and EB was bracing for a hit. Physics were on Tebow's side and he still went down.

Only Gator homers would be too stupid to realize that hit was a draw.

BTW, I didn't see any talk on that site about the fact that Tebow was afraid to throw the ball at all after EB's INT.

Also, ever time EB tackled Tebow after that it was wrap up and bring to the ground. EB did the best job I have seen any defender do at bringing Tebow quickly to the ground.

It's sad that the Gators are still trying so hard to save face for their boy wonder when he had a less-than-impressive game against our D.

What will their excuse be when we have multiple guys go ahead of Teabag in the draft?? As of right now, I'm thinking EB, Rico, Dan Williams and Vlad all could be drafted higher than Superwoman.

So what? Tebow won't rule the NFL like he rules NCAA. Berry on the other hand has quite the future in the NFL.

It was a draw, no one got rolled up, Tebow's momentum was knocked backwards and so was Berry's, Berry's teammates carried both Tebow and Berry toward the end zone. To claim otherwise is believing what you want to and totally ignoring what your eyes tell you.

Who cares anyway, Tebow outweighs Berry by at least 25 to 35 pounds and he still could not truck him head to head, he should have been able to but he didn't.

TT would have fell backward had another Vol defender not pushed him forward into Berry causing EB to fall back.

I think Gator fans are looking for ANYTHING either to discount or draw attention away from the fact that they did not put the beatdown on us as they promised.

The book on tebow is that he always falls forward for 2 extra yards. THAT didn't happen. He bowed up like a rolypoly.

it was clear the only reason he fell forward was because 2 Tennessee defenders pushed him forward when they fell on him. That was about an even of a hit as you can get. Which says alot for Berry since Teblow out weighs Berry by 37 pounds

Tebow hit Berry in stride, while Berry awaited. I felt like Tebow knocked him back; but Slow motion replay showed Berry didn't go anywhere untill 2 other UT guys forced him backward after the hit.
I was VERY impressed by Berry. I would have love to see Berry instride hitting Tebow....eww, someone, or both, would have been carried off the field IMO.

On a side note...

EB has roughly 20% of Tebow's interceptions. He has thrown around 10 (or 10 exactly.?.?) and Berry has two of them, one of which was a pick 6.

...and the last one was a spectacular catch by Berry

a Draw????

Tim Tebow weights 240
Eric Berry weights 215

When Tebow hit Berry he was running and berry was standing still...
Tebow rocked backwards and then Montori Hughes and Walker or Ben Martin feel on top of him pushing him forward.
If they would not have hit Tebow from behind he would have sat right down on his butt after that hit...Watch it in slow motion and you see Tebow falling backwards...so if anything I would say Berry won that challenge...
