Both have had engine failures that they have traced to a coating they put on camshafts to avoid initial start-up wear. Apparently it is coming off on the lifters causing them to stick, which of course results in valves and pistons having unfriendly contact. I know Dale, Jr was one of them and Michael Waltrip.
I remember when the guys actually raced in these qualifiers. There needs to be a change in the current deal with 35 locked in. At least drop it down to 25, but I say go back to the previous set-up at Daytona. These races are really nothing but testing sessions for all but the Go or Go Home drivers.
