I feel the need to start a thread on this. I understand why people are predicting a blow out. I do. But look back to last year.

Why do people seem to forget we held the mighty Tebow to 96 yds passing? Or that Crompton was 18/28 for 162 yds? Florida won that game with big plays.

This year:

I feel like our defense is a bit better this year, especially the secondary. We have better coaching and schemes that will be new to Florida. Despite our showing yesterday, our offense has shown improvement from last year. Although, returning 11 starters, Florida's D still looks sloppy and unproven. Their offense looks every bit as good as last year. No Harvin, but Rainey has looked good. If we can contain Rainey and prevent the long run, we could string this out. I don't think Tebow can beat us through the air. Did you watch him against Troy? He could take a TD pass whenever he wanted one. That secondary was terrible, while ours could be the best in the SEC. If we can limit ourselves to two interceptions, while capitalizing on Florida's fumbling problem, we can get it close. I'm confident our special teams can prevent another Brandon James TD. Florida will not, WILL NOT march up and down the field at will on us. There is no way they score 40 or more on us, and I'm even tempted to say we keep them under 30. We have to be effective and accurate in the passing game. I don't trust Crompton to throw the ball more than 15 yds in any direction. Stick with dumps out of the backfield and screens to our WRs. On D, hit hard and hit all the time. This is Florida's first game of the year. I think the Vols are more than ready.

And now if you'd like, let me know how you feel and let's see some of your favorite Vol-Gator pictures.

Bring the pain. A lot of pain.

With this being D being better than the previous two they could be in for a wake up call... GO VOLS!

i agree on they will not blow us out I am close on there score but i in no shape or fashion see us scoring 16. im thinking like 27-9 and all their points come off a short field from our mistakes!

what will it take to win this game? i know we have to take care of the ball! we have to take advantage of floridas mistakes.

the only way we get a win is suddendly before kickoff 15-20 Florida players are deemed ineligible for textbook scandle (pipe dream) while they are equally as hated as BAMA they havent been caught cheating recently

Already a lot of hype on TV about the game this weekend....Could be one of the most watched games in a long long time....The pressure is on Florida.

Montey's defensive strategy is not new to FL. He has spent time working with that team and is a friend of Myer...or however you spell it.

I'm tired of people saying how we shut down Florida's offense last year. We didn't. Florida got off to quick, comfortable lead and Meyer did us a favor by not running up the score and calling simple formations and quite a few run plays.
