Lawrence, I guess i read it wrong sorry. I will be there to support our vols!

No worries. I hope you have a good time like I do every time I come to Knoxville.

Be sure to report back with your experience. I'd be willing to bet your car won't get keyed and beer won't get thrown on you.

Allright thanks Lawrence. I looked it up and it's $8 to park and ride. I just wasn't sure about the mall location because I had a car stolen at an NFL game once after parking at a mall.

There weren't any what present? That would have been decent had you not jacked up the singular vs plural thing.

Were you really trying to pretend UF is a good school. If it is now (it isn't), it had damn sure changed since it admitted you.

That's a lot cheaper than paying $20-$30 for VERY limited parking near the stadium.

That's actually a sound plan.

There are shuttle buses running between the mall and the stadium. Not sure how much it costs, but parking is more sparse than ever this year due to construction on campus and curb spots going away.

How far away is the Oaks Mall? Sounds like a reasonable plan.

It's maybe 5 miles from the stadium, but it's on Newberry Road, which turns into University Ave. Traffic is terrible during the week, let alone on gamedays.

Couple that with limited parking it's a safe way to get there and get home if you don't know where you're going.

oaks mall works i guess, but you are going to enjoy a lot of time in a bus...as said earlier bad enough during the week but on game day i could probably walk faster...dont know about the season pass to jj finley....they have a ton of space so that seems silly but others seem to be in the know more then i....if you guys want to contact me i can park about 8-10 cars for you...bout 1/2 mile to stadium

You weren't harassed because most Vol fans, besides drunk Frat guys have some class, and have been winners for years and generally like the area they live and don't want it to be seen as a bad place to visit. It has nothing to do with how good your team is, and one would think that if your team is really so great, you could let them do the talking on the field. Maybe they should be appreciative of outsiders spending money in that crap hole you all call a city. The problem is there are a bunch of transplanted worthless yankees coming in that have no respect for anything or anyone, and are generally looking to show their ass. I have never seen so many drunk old people cussing families with kids. Large groups of men that were not Frat age, challenging much smaller groups of UT fans. Throwing beers at families and others. Seen 10 guys cussing and getting in a guys face with his family there, and all they were doing was walking to the game in UT gear and were saying nothing. Never had piss thrown at me, but I have no doubt in my mind that it has happened. My personal car was vandalized and I had no UT stuff on it, just a Knox County license plate. All the cars around there that had UT stuff were vandalized, there flags broken, etc. I've been to every venue in the SEC, and other places, and the overwhelming bad apples at Florida do not come close to comparing to the other places. Of course there are bad ones every where, including UT, but there is nothing close to Gainesville, and the worst fan base in the country. My 2 trips there were both like this, and I refuse to go back. I will go to many other places and spend my money to watch the Vols play, but I would never go back there again. And yes, I have been harassed some at other places, as I expect it, but the UF fan base is in a "class" by itself.

Let me tell you, you won't be missed. There are bad apples everywhere and I personally don't think we have more than any other school. I've never personally seen anything more than verbal harassment typical at this type of venue.

For every story a visiting fan comes up with, there's a Gator fan that claims the same thing happened on the other team's campus as well. Your comments tell me all I need to know about you.

Someone told me a good place to park if you get on campus early is Norman Field--I'm not sure where it is, but they said you can park on the grass with lots of space, etc.

I once saw a Gator fan bite the head off of a Tennessee fan's infant child before the 2007 game.

True story.
You're not going to believe this, but I know UF fans that are so sad they have to come to opponent websites and talk trash to feel better about their sorry lots in life. Amazing, no?

i'm not sure, but it looks like a pretty big open area. i started this thread just to see if anyone was interested in it. obviously none of us want to be in the middle of an arse-load of blue

Norman Field is a good spot, but it's usually packed for 3:30 games by 9:30 or so. There's construction on campus that wiped out a couple parking lots, and curbside spots were taken away also....complete BS. Our tailgate crew is setting up shop at 6:00 near Little Hall. A couple of us are leaving our cars there overnight to be assured of a spot.

Parking was bad enough on campus before, now it's downright ridiculous.
